I used the pattern from Stitch n Bitch Nation, and modified it by doing at 2x2 rib at the bottom.

Used about half skein of Berroco Ultra Alpaca.

I began the hat by using the free pattern on the Lion Brand website and then for the decreases I consulted Wendy Bernard's (knit and tonic) last minute purled beret.

I also put an elastic band at the top to hold it up.

This was a quick project and I'll probably be making many more of these in the future. I gave this one to my momma for Mother's Day.

I used a razor to shave off the excess hairy-ness but it's still too furry. Any tips on making it look cleaner?
