Loved making this hat so much that I made two!

Made the tab a bit shorter on this one.

Used one skein of Rowan Big Wool for each hat.

3  Beret in Knitting: Completed Projects by operadork on: February 16, 2008 02:42:08 PM

Used about half skein of Berroco Ultra Alpaca.

I began the hat by using the free pattern on the Lion Brand website and then for the decreases I consulted Wendy Bernard's (knit and tonic) last minute purled beret.

I knit it in the round 3x1 rib. 4 balls of Gedifra Modern Cotton.
I also put an elastic band at the top to hold it up.

Yes, that's a roll of toilet paper modeling the bonnet.
I used Rowan Kid Classic and for the border I used Plymouth Encore. This was my first time doing I-cord.

I used a cotton yarn but i'll probably never use cotton again for this project. doing increases with cotton is not fun.

Anyway, this was my first time making a garment with real sleeves. i think i can move on to making my first sweater now.
