1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / What to do if craft fair is cancelled? on: September 18, 2006 03:20:36 PM
hi there -

I have a question for you - I'm supposed to be vending at a craft fair this weekend. When I checked the weather reports for the weekend, I emailed the organizers to see if there was some sort of plan in effect for what to do if it rain - she said there wasn't. I guess my question is, has this sort of thing happened to any of you?

Thanks

You should always bring way more than you think you'll need. I've brought knitted items to craft fairs and they've sold really well, so I was happy that I spent extra time making things.

4  UNITED STATES / Tennessee / moving to nashville/murfreesboro area on: March 08, 2006 09:00:27 AM
Hi there. I'm moving to the Nashville/Murfreesboro area this summer. My husband landed a teaching position at MTSU. I know nothing about the area - is there anything that any of you could tell me about it?

thanks

They have a gorgeous library though. The old one was tiny and I think I read all the books in it by the time I was 12. Several years ago someone died and left money for them to build a completely new one. On a crafty note, the school organized a project whereby all the kids collected beach glass for months, and then a local artist created a mosaic on the foundation of the building. It's really nice Smiley

the library foundation is amazing looking. i was wondering where the idea came from.
7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / stenciled tote bag (with a picture) on: July 26, 2005 07:59:14 PM
i made this tote bag for my husband. the image is from some 80s book called "the big freeze." it also needs to be ironed.

the writing down the side, a quote from the book, says "mrs robinson was the one teacher maria really liked. she was kind and pretty."

we're on a kick now where we want to make t-shirts for all the images from that book.

I grew up in (dare I say it?) Lubec, and spent a few years in Waterville for college.  I have been displaced to the Boston area, but I like to go back to visit Smiley  I actually wanted to stay in Maine after college, but there were no jobs.....

the people i've seen from lubec are crazy tough - i went to the library book sale there on the 4th, and i was hit in the leg by an old woman, and some man took a book out of my hand. lubecers are not to be messed with.
