1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Tutorial-Unlined tote bag with french seams on: September 19, 2006 01:18:34 AM
My brain did manage to get around it eventually... so when you sew it the first time, it has raw edges, but the second time, the raw edges are inside the next seam? I tihink i get it now.
Thanks so much for the tips!

Yeah, I'm a met girl myself. Bought me a weekly this morning. But I tend to use the 2hrx10 ones (tip for silly people: if you validate soon after the start of the hour you get more time!) and the 5x daily. Which are BORING grey. My favourite ever so far is the one recently for the arts thing - pink with a bunny! I LOVE BUNNIES!!! I think your bag is really awesome. I saw a dress once, it was cool. But yours is super functional too!

Get a GIANT enlargement of your tampon box (pick a popular brand so it's obvious) and make a GIANT tampon box. Then carry it around so if anyone asks you can just say that you're carryinng a tampon box.
Making no sense, saying tampon box too often. Too much cold medicine, lol.

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Skipping Tote inspired: with dots and fishies! on: July 31, 2006 04:02:53 AM
Yahay, first topic by mee!

Here is my fishie tote. The design is based upon the Skipping Tote. My sewing skills suck. The hemming is all hand done, the seams are not. The fish is charcoal felt. The button is a heart. So much fun.

Looks lovely! I really like the sleeves and the bow/belt/obi-esque back. Looks great on you, too.

Also, another reason for responding: you have a Rosebud in your avatar! Whoo! Blythe Power!! (I've got a V Smash, a LL, a Frupu and a FT. MRB is on my list, but not yet!)
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: What to make your best friend for her sweet 16? on: July 20, 2006 02:13:41 AM
An Ipod cozy? She probably already has one, but this would be personal and unique. There are a lot of tutes here that could help.

Not so much crafting as cooking, but still...

A friend and I (both *very* underage) decided to make Tiramisu. We sort of were muddling along, we had our liqueur and our cream cheese and our biscuit in the bowl. But the biscuit wasn't getting soft. So we added more liqueu. And then more. Untill it was a bowl of liqueur with some cream cheese and biscuits floating in it.

Then we went back to the recipe book:

"Refrigerate for 24 hours and serve."
