this is the first shirt ive ever reconstructed, and i love it!http://us.f1f.yahoofs.com/bc/4013f742/bc/Mail+Attachments/bahhumbug.jpg?bfmNLbABKc6eSIrh
I bought this shirt at the thrift store, liking the 'Bah Humbug' and grumpy old man on it. It was huuuge. It went halfway to my knees and the sleeves past my elbows.
I first placed a shirt that i liked the fit for over it and cut about an inch and a half around it on the bottom and sides and cut off the top of the shirt to make the armholes smaller. i completley cut the sleeves off with plans for those later. i put the shirt inside out and sewed up the sides and the top together. i then had a sleeveless, fitting shirt.
as for the huge sleeves i had left, i cut them into smaller triangular like shapes, and sewed them back on the shirt, to make short sleeves.
i didnt use a pattern, but pretty much made it the same as the shirt that i liked in the beginning.
