1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Batik Tote Bag on: March 07, 2006 02:10:35 PM
I've made a lot of smallish purses out of batik fabric, and I've been trying to come up with a way to use up some of the scraps.  Here's what I came up with.  I quilted the bag with a layer of fleece.  That gives it a little bit of stability.  This is made from a pattern, but I don't know the actual pattern number.

A close up of the straps.  I used batik blocks as well.

I'd welcome any comments.
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / First Time Poster & First Quilt (Image Heavy) on: March 07, 2006 11:55:04 AM
Hi.  I discovered this board several months ago and I am hooked.  I began sewing again 3 years ago.  This was my first sewing project.  I FINALLY finished it last month.  I did all the quilting by hand.  I love how it looks, but I don't know if I'll ever do that again.  It's far from perfect, but I love it.  It's too small for a bed, but it's the perfect size for curling up on the couch.  Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
