1  Re: BAG CHALLENGE :2: SPRING BAG! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by daisy525 on: April 24, 2006 09:20:37 AM
I previously posted this bag here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=83570.0, but I think it qualifies as a "spring bag."

Bag Title: Batik Tote

Materials Used:
Batik scraps from previous purses that I made
Darker cotton fabric for the back
Lightweight fleece (I prefer that to interfacing).

2  Batik Tote Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by daisy525 on: March 07, 2006 02:10:35 PM
I've made a lot of smallish purses out of batik fabric, and I've been trying to come up with a way to use up some of the scraps.  Here's what I came up with.  I quilted the bag with a layer of fleece.  That gives it a little bit of stability.  This is made from a pattern, but I don't know the actual pattern number.

A close up of the straps.  I used batik blocks as well.

I'd welcome any comments.

3  Re: TUTORIAL: Make a Lined Zippered Pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by daisy525 on: March 07, 2006 12:35:20 PM
Here's my attempt.  It's also my first attempt at an applique.  It turned out ok.  I love it as a pencil bag.  It was also a great way to use up some scraps I have laying around.  Great tutorial.  I've always wondered how to get zippers into my projects.

4  First Time Poster & First Quilt (Image Heavy) in Quilting: Completed Projects by daisy525 on: March 07, 2006 11:55:04 AM
Hi.  I discovered this board several months ago and I am hooked.  I began sewing again 3 years ago.  This was my first sewing project.  I FINALLY finished it last month.  I did all the quilting by hand.  I love how it looks, but I don't know if I'll ever do that again.  It's far from perfect, but I love it.  It's too small for a bed, but it's the perfect size for curling up on the couch.  Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
