Sorry if you already mentioned this (I don't have the energy to go through the pages and check) but how did you thread the ribbon through? Just made vertical slits in the leather? And did you need to do anything to the ribbon to keep it nice and wide and flat all the way around, because I would've thought that something as soft as satin would scrunch up a bit?

i just cut slits into the shoe. its kinda hard to expain how i get the ribbon to stay in shape. but basically i kinda of "fluff" them.  i scrunch the ends at the slit so the ribbon puffs up. hope that makes sense.

I agree that yours look much more fabulous than the originals!  What did you use to make the cuts?  An exacto knife???  Anyway, these are adorable....I want a pair!

i used an exacto knife and a small kitchen knife. i put masking tape on the side and then drew in the lines because i was afraid i would mess up.

They look much better in silver!  Good job.  One question- for the slits for the ribbon, did you just cut it or did you sew around the edges or anything?
i just cut them. the material is pretty thick and it doesnt look like they're going to fray.

hi!
i saw these betsey johnson flats and thought they would be very easy to make. i had some really unattractive flats that my mom had bought for me and some satin ribbon laying around.
