4  Re: Questions About Hairstyles! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by Martyx9 on: April 16, 2007 01:37:14 PM
I'm looking for some advice (well duh!) Has anyone here cut their own hair, and had it been a success? I don't mean just the bangs, but the rest of the head as well. If you did, could you please share any tips or tricks?
hello! i've been cutting my own hair for the past yr or so. I started cause it was way too expensive to get my hair cut all the time Smiley
but ya! it turns out well
here's a pic of the last haircut I gave myself(I did it yesterday actually)

hmm tips?
well to start off with you need sizzors, i wouldnt worry about gettin really fancy hair-cutter's sizzors. I usually use just thoose regular kid-sizzors with the plastic handles or my huge black metal sewing sizzors.
so the most important tip is that a perfectionist should NEVER cut hr own hair. I myself am a very messy person so self-haircutting is a great thing fo rme cause I dont really mind when it comes out choppy (messy Smiley,
i usually just cut off as much as i want and then hack at my head untill I like how it looks. it's actually REALLY fun just to cut off everything.
hmm so last tip is cut it like an inch longer than you want it till you get to the end so that if you make a mistake you have some hair left to try ad fix it.
I hope that helps, honestly there isn't much method to my maddness as you can see in the almost-mullet which i'm sporting now Cheesy
hope that helps!

5  very silly pom pom hat for my kittens (payback for all that yarn they stole!) in Crochet: Completed Projects by Martyx9 on: February 24, 2007 05:20:58 PM
hello all!! I havent crocheted in a while but I figured why not give it a shot.
So a month or so my cat, Mad MAx(the orange one) stole a ball of yarn from me. So this morning I found it's mangled remains under my bed and thought PAYBACK. Hence the exceptionally dorky hat. haha yeah, I'm just that special
anyways, I tried modeling it on the yarn-snatcher himself, Mad MAx, but after one pick he was havign NONE of it. So off I went in search of Rolly Polly the other resident cat. She was takign a nap and so was far more cooperative about modeling the rediculous hat. haha ok so here goes:

here's a very unhappy mad max w/ the hat,

and here's Rolly Polly with the hat (I think she's wondering if this is some sort of really odd dream...)

and last but not least another Rolly Polly shot:

So anywhoo hope you enjoyed it! Smiley

9  Felt Water dragon/lizard and crickets for Valentines Day :) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Martyx9 on: February 07, 2006 04:16:04 PM
Hey all! I'm rather unsatisfied with the pictures so try to ignore the fuzzyness! lol
anywhoo! this is a project which I've made for my fioncee for valentine's day - it is supposed to be a water dragon (eg - lizard) with three crickets (the water dragon's food) The entire thing took me around 3 weeks to a month and it was so fun! There isn't a pattern because I made it up. Oh! you can't really see it in the poopy pictures, but one of the cricket's legs is sewn into the lizard's mouth tehehe. Anyways! any comments are appreciated! Smiley
here's the lizard and his crickets  -
And here's just the lizard -
and here's just the crickets - ( The little one is the baby and the big one is the mommy and the medium one is the daddy)
I think the water dragon may turn out to be a vegetarian so no worries for the fate of the mini cricket family.
thanks for any feedback!
