21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Fruits and Veggies 2 Gallery! on: July 05, 2006 08:00:20 AM
I received from yayita827 today.  The package is wonderful.  I think my co-workers might wonder why I was squealing like a piggie in my cubicle.  Everything is adorable.  Pics will take a couple of days because I don't own a digital camera . . . gasp . . . so I am taking pics with my disposable camera.  I can't wait to show everyone what she sent me.  yayita827's a great swap buddy!!!!
22  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: $500 in vet bills and a very emotional weekend later... on: July 05, 2006 07:34:36 AM
Oh, wow.  I'm kind of glad you posted this because I would never have thought about this as being a problem and I have a kitty.  Granted she prefers to try to eat fuzz off the floor rather than thread, but still . . . I'll have to make extra sure I have no thread lying about she can get to.
23  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Literature Swap? on: July 05, 2006 07:12:34 AM
I do hope that, with the extended time period from my first swap, I get feedback in time to participate in this.  Crafting literary goodness sounds quite appealing, since it is a fusion of two of my main passions.  Of course, when I get on a real knitting streak, I feel as if I should pay neighborhood children to come read to me.
24  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Fruits and Veggie Swap, Round 2! on: July 05, 2006 07:09:15 AM
i got my package yesterday from jillianb!!!!!!!!!! Cheesy its amazing i am so in love! thanks so much jill!!!!! i wanna brag some more by posting my pics but i cant seem to get to the gallery link...  Embarrassed
I am sooo glad you like it.  I was in kind of a down craft period (no holidays or birthdays) and had a lot of fun experimenting.  And then overcompensating . . .  I have to admit there were things in there I was really sad to see go.  Fortunately, I think I have enough yarn to recreate at least one of them!
25  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Chart ADHD on: June 30, 2006 11:25:32 AM
Thanks for the ideas guys.  I usually manage the rows okay.  It's when I start to move across a really long chart that I start to go cross-eyed.  I'm going to have to try some of these ideas out over the holidays.
26  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Chart ADHD on: June 29, 2006 11:45:37 AM
Am I the only one who starts a large chart with good intentions, successfully completing the gauge swatch, who then manages to begin flubbing the chart within a matter of rows once I start working on the actual item?  I swear it is as if I get bored of looking at the chart.  Doing my own stuff it's not a problem because my notes are very brief and each stitch pattern shows up on a little piece of paper (typically an old receipt).  Anyone have any tips about the best way to work through large charts without losing interest and/or getting lost?
27  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: make dresses, not war. on: June 29, 2006 09:02:07 AM
Another vote for the red one.  Of course, I love anything red.  & the fruit print dress looks like it would be great for summer.

I see most people are mentioning novels/novelists. Is poetry free game for this one, too?

I have to agree.  Cute, especially the lemon pouch.  I like lemons.
