1  I have an ugly pair of jeans....so I am enlisting some help! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by beachbunny on: June 18, 2005 05:07:16 PM
I have a pair of Levis. A really ugly pair. They are just medium blue with super slight distressing, and they are a little short.

Uglyness in fabric form.

So, I'm thinking about making capris from them, dying them a different color, and maybe distressing them.

I read the post above about distressing jeans, so I'm alright with that. The jeans are 98% cotton and 2% spandex. Is it possible to dye them? I'm not even sure how to dye jeans a "natural" color. But I do kind of like the base color on these jeans:

Just something a little more exciting then medium blue. I'm thinking maybe dying them black because it would be lighter in some areas?

ANY suggestions would be helpful, thanks! Cheesy

2  Any suggestions on how to make this bag? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by beachbunny on: June 16, 2005 02:11:46 PM
I *LOVE* this bag from http://www.pacsun.com:

And I have the perfect fabric that I've been wanting to use on a purse. I was thinking maybe do sort of the "more rounder roomy bag tutorial", and just sew the top of thefabric closed, then add a tube of fabric to the top (on the wooden handles) that is longer so it bunches?

How does that sound? Thanks!

4  Surfer Photoframe! Semi-tutorial also :) in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by beachbunny on: June 15, 2005 10:50:51 PM
Sorry for the bad quality of the picture, it was taken a few years ago with an older camera!

You Will Need:
-----------------
-A piece of cardboard to act as your frame, it can be as big or as small as you'd like.
-Your photograph. I used the cover from the catalog http://www.swell.com
-An old necklace.
-An old pair of sunglasses. One of the "legs" on mine broke off, so I just broke off the other one.
-Strong Glue
-Xacto knife
-Wrapping paper! That's what makes the color of the frame.

Directions:
-------------

1) Measure your picture on the piece of cardboard. Cut out the size with an exacto knife.

2) Put glue all over your frame, and measure out the wrapping paper to wrap the frame in.

3) String your necklace or beads around the outside of the frame.

4) Glue your picture to the BACK of the cardboard.

5) Glue your sunglasses to the top and your done!

It's not very sturdy or anything, but it's great for a decoration. I haven't put the "kickstand" part on the back, but that would be easy to figure out.

You could also just not put the sunglasses on, and make a series to hang on your walls!
