1  prom dress a roo in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by s0veryvague on: May 21, 2006 09:48:10 PM
i'm really pleased with how my prom dress came out. i modeled it after one that was 300 dollars, mine was 30 and i like it just as much.

i didn't use a pattern, but the skirt is a circle skirt, because thats really the only kind i can make that don't look dumpy. the blue is organza, the white is silk. i was dying to buy some of that silk forever and never had a reason, until nowww.

inspiration:

and my dress, which i did change quite a bit, just for my taste/preference.

2  velvet skirt into semi-formal dress NOW WITH TUT. in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by s0veryvague on: December 03, 2005 12:27:11 AM
i had just a plain black velvet skirt with elastic that was wearing out, and i needed a dress for a winter dance. soooo

i hitched the skirt up and then took a strip of white cotton and wrapped it around, tied it in the front and pulled it through the middle of my boobs for the shape of the top. sewed that on.. then i sewed a bra into it, well sort of, but just at the end of the front straps, so then i had straps and they match alright, becuase both are black. it worked out alright, and no one will notice, so allll's good.

here it is. god knows what my face was thinking when i took this. umm so just ignore that part

This is my newest one. I really like how it looks with multiple colors.

For a sealer, would gel medium work? I really have no idea.

Thanks!

6  Summer Scarves in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by s0veryvague on: July 12, 2004 11:08:06 PM
I absolutely adore scarves and recently learned how to knit, but now as it's summer I really can't wear them or I would end up melting into a puddle, and we all know that wouldn't be good. But I see more summer-y, lighter scarves in stores and such, and was wondering what kind of yarn, ribbon or whatever one would use to knit one of those. Or would you even knit it?

...........Sort of like this one I suppose. Not exactly, but you know what I mean??

Thanks for your help!
