1  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Arrrgggghhh - my cat's pirate ship play station! on: February 16, 2009 05:03:36 PM
I found this little cat play station at Ross for $7!!!

Since I named my animals after the great songs of music legend Elton John (My cat is Rocketman and my fish is Bennyandthejets)  I decided to name this little beauty the USS Crocodile Rock!

He LOVES it!!

Arggggggh!!!

Thanks for looking Smiley
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Bar Station :) on: February 16, 2009 04:56:25 PM
I collect shot glasses and originally had them on my little wine hutch thingy, but they were taking over and my cat decided to start using them as toys... I found this shelf at a thrift store for like $8, I painted it black and waaaaahlahh - a display for my many shot glasses =]

Then here is a hutch thingy with a wine rack underneath that I found for $45 at Salvation Army!!!  Usually a lot more full of bottles underneath - going through drought right now =[

Enjoy!
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / My non-over-the-top Disney/Retro kitchen! =] lots of pics on: February 16, 2009 04:50:31 PM
I started collecting Disney stuff and Retro stuff - Thank gosh they're both in the Red color scheme!  Well here is my recently 'somewhat' finished kitchen =]  I tried not to go over the top with the Disney stuff, I didn't want it to be considered childish.

I took all of these pictures from a bar that seperates the kitchen from my dining/living areas.

Here is a part of my retro bottle collection - check out that skippy jar!!

My cookbook collection with retro star shaped fly swatter..

Coffee Station

The side of my fridge was a little boring, so I cut up an old calendar and made these magnet fridge art

I made these magnets out of old cookie cutters!

My Recipe box and my salt and pepper shakers!

Then some the rest of my counter space...

I have a few retro Mickey Mouse posters that I am going to add to the wall space by the fridge that match all the colors pretty well..

So what do yall think?
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / The Valentine I sent to my buddy :) :) on: February 16, 2009 04:40:22 PM
This year I adopted my friend for V-day and sent him this little gift...

He is a Eagles fan and I am a Charger fan - so I made him this picture frame specific to our friendship...  (I had a better picture for the frame, but conveniently my printer wouldn't work =[)

Inside are home-made heart shaped sugar cookies with V-day decorated frosting (I didn't get a picture of the cookies =[)

Then all of it together...

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Valentine's tree decorations (lots and lots of pictures!) on: February 16, 2009 04:32:04 PM
So I have a beachy theme to my dining/living area - so instead of doing a Christmas Tree I decided to put up a year-round artificial palm tree.  I usually decorate it for Christmas with regular decorations and for the rest of the year use it as an extra light source...  This V-day I decided I was going to try and keep it decorated for all the other holidays...  So these are my Valentine's ornaments.

I just used the little wooden shapes from Michaels - I think like $.50 per piece, painted on each side, hot glue gunned ribbon to the to and embellished as needed.  My cat LOVES have a new holiday to attack the tree!

Then below if my little fishy bowl - in spirit of love day!

Thanks for looking!
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Bringing Las Vegas home suprise PARTY! (pics added!!) on: August 31, 2006 02:20:12 PM
My best friend is turning 21(FINALLY), and I'm going to throw her a suprise party for her birthday...  The original plan was for our group of friends to actually go to Vegas, but some hardship hit her family and she thinks she's completely unable to celebrate her birthday...  Well I plan to bring Vegas to her... but I think I might need some crafty ideas to help it move along smoothly.  Here's the plan.

-Its a dress up party, I've asked the guests to dress as though they'd be going out to a nice dinner.
-There's about 15 people going to come.
-Dinner will be served (I'm thinking pasta, salad, lasagna)  Italian seems easy... anyone have good Italian snack ideas, she's a Vegetarian...
-Obviously Alcohol, its her 21st... any specific drink scream out Vegas to you guys?
-Appropriate games will be played, in my games room we have a poker table, pool table, a black jack felt, as well as a Bingo set...  I'm afriad no one will really want to "gamble",  what should I give as prizes?
-I've been to Party City and checked out their collection of Vegas stuff, anyone have any original decoration ideas that I could possibly make myself?

OH.. and it might be an inside-outside party... so anyone have any outdoor ideas?

I'll post pictures!
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Craft party ???s on: March 23, 2006 11:55:41 PM
I'm getting some of my friends together to craft.  I'm really into stencilling and they all love my designs, so I thought it was a time effective way for me to let them get to wear the stuff I've designed, but by them getting to make it.  I'm just a little nervous about it being boring...  I'm really good at getting people involved in a activity, but I just don't know what all I should have for everyone to do...

I have supplies that cover anything... Duct tape, paints, stencils, fabric, detailed paper...

Anyone have any ideas of things or any creative ideas that will be easy to show people how to make and that will actually be something other then a girlscout craft day?

One problem... my sewing machine is not available...

I need ideas, like what do you all do when crafting with friends??
8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Some shirts I made.. on: February 28, 2006 11:43:20 AM
I'm still really new at stencilling, but I'm loving it and loving how my stuff is turning out!!  What do you all think?

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Old sweater, New look on: February 11, 2006 05:54:09 PM
I had this old black Old Navy sweater that was starting to fade, so I decided to try to make it a little special...  I just stenciled on  shapes to some fabric I found at JoAnn's and  Wha-la...

10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / 1st time stenciler = semi cool new tank. on: February 11, 2006 05:45:04 PM
So I tried out stenciling for the first time ever and I'm liking it.  I just drew some designs on Cardstock razor cut it out and  sponge painted onto my shirt... I like it.  I tried to make the paint fade from white-pink-coral-orange-red... but it all blended too much together.  Any ideas cause I was going to make a similar design but with rainbow colors fading into eachother, but I'm a little timid to ruin a shirt.

The Stencil:

The tank:

A better picture of the design:

Soooo, you likey?
