I agree, taking a class is a great way to get access to a lot of equipment. I would also ask around the ceramics community where you live - someone might have an idea of where you can use a kiln, or you might have a potter in your neighborhood that can share their kiln for a small fee. Have fun!

Vinyl tile will definitely be easy and cheap. (Especially compared to laying ceramic tile correctly.)

Pulling a toilet is very easy, much easier than trying to work around it.

Depending on the condition of your old linoleum, you may need to scrape it off first.

Would you mind sharing what brand of brushes you use?  I'm thinking of doing some detail painting on my walls, and I have brushes with either hard plastic bristles or nice soft ones that fall out into my painting.   

I got my brushes from either Michael's or Joann's. They are some of the cheapest brushes that they have there - lol! They come in a pack of 5 or so brushes of varying sizes, and the handles are see-through colored sparkly plastic in different colors and the brushes are some sort of brown fake sable-like hair. I LOVE these brushes. I have another couple sets of them that I use for facepainting the kids, and they work perfectly for that too.

Your painting work is great!  Better than the inspiration, I think.  Did you use brushes or paint markers?

Waaaaait! Fuse? Huh? You mean to tell me I dont have to sepend hours on end sewing ribbon on? How does one fuse? Where does one buy "fuse"? Im  con"fuse"d

Oh yes! Fusing is the way to go! Just ask for "wonder under" or "fuse-n-bond". It's great for stuff like this or costume hems.
