I like the idea of adding lace/tulle.  You could make this a totally new dress without a permanent tranformation.  Add a wide band of lace under the bust.  You could also put a ribbon.  I also love the ides of tulle/lace underskirt.  It would make it fresh and young looking:

Here's a necklace I recently made.  I was inspired by the anthropologie necklace here:

My version:

I got some wide metal chain(lightweight or you'll break your neck)and wrapped it in long thin strips of silky fabric.  Some were sheer- these worked best- the stretchy material was a pain in the butt, as was the lace, but I like the look.  I just ripped strips about 1/4 an inch wide.  Where the ends met I used some metallic gold thread and stitched the strips in place, then wrapped the thread around the link for about a 1/4 inch or less and wove in the ends.  I finished the necklace with a string of pearl-like beads and bobble buttons on some oversized saftey pins.  Let me know what you think!  I still have a lot of chain left and I'm thinking of wrapping the whole length and then wearing it doubled--this will take a LONG time though, so it may just become a few bracelettes(sp?) for gifts

So, like many of us, I made my Christmas presents this year.  Here are two bags I made for the twenty something gals in my close family.  The peacock was my own design and the unicorn was an iron on embroidery design.  I happened upon the sequining accidentally.  I first just embroidered the outline of the unicorn, but I thought the material's print was a bit distracting in the middle, so I filled in the body with clear irridescent sequins.  It took a long time, but it was alot of fun!  I think I'll do more.  Sorry the pix are so bad.  I took hasty ictures before wrapping them and I they looked fine on the small screen of my digi.  The lighting is bad and the beads/sequins are reflecty, but I think you can get the gist.

I DESPERATELY want to make this jacket.....problem is, I live in New Mexico now and really have little need for it; however, if I start it now, maybe I would actually finish it for next winter.  Of course, then I'll be bummed I can't wear it.  Maybe I can make it lighter, but I dont want to loose the drape.  Any ideas?  If I do make it, I think I'll make the skirt bit a little more A-lined.
