1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Resizing a pattern? on: January 16, 2008 12:23:46 PM
I have never bought a pattern before in my life. And for my wedding I am having my dress made so I needed to go out and buy a pattern. The pattern said size A (4-6-8-10) so that is the one I picked up, I am a size 4 in womens/misses. Well the pattern I picked is an out of print pattern now and I can't buy it anywhere anymore. But anyway.......... I looked on the pattern for the measurements to go with what size and the pattern says that for my bust I should be in a size 14. Is there anyway that you can fix the pattern without having to try to find another one without making the dress look like it was patched together to fit? (If any of you have an old simplicity book it is pattern 4686, dress C with a longer skirt) Please help!?!? any advice?!?!

I love all your clothing! especially the ghost hoodie. I like the hood, having the big stripe. would you possibly mind making a little tute. I have tried to make a hoodie a couple of times and it always ends up that I can't get the hood, sleeves, and pocket right. And the hoodie around the chest is always so small it squishes my boobs where it looks like i have a deformed set of two boobs on each side. Please help me.

I absolutely love your hoodie. I have been looking everywhere for a hoodie exactly like that. (One that is a solid color with contrasting patterned fabric.) Is it possible to get a tute on how you made it??? is the hood doubled?

That is a kick a$$ hoodie! I love the pirate stencil on the back. It would be awesome if you'd make a tute! I'm in the process of trying to figure out how to make a hoodie and its kinda hard for me to. I can't just wing it, I get confused when I try to make stuff work without instructions. ( you should see the mess. bag i tried to make. It came out where the front was way too large compared to the front and I accidently sewed the fabric for the flap on backwards! LOL)

I have a question for you ..... Is the fabric a half circle that is folded in half and then sewed or is it a different shape? And if it is a half circle ... how big did you make it? do you have any kind of simple instructions to follow to make one?

I THINK YOUR DRESS IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I would love to make something like that!

How much fabric did you use for the sweatshirt? how much for the pants? ......... I have been trying to to figure out how much fabric (how many yards) to use to make a sweatshirt/sweater.
