1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: simple zipper top stop on: June 17, 2007 03:01:43 AM
I'll see if I can get the waistband to go over the top.  Thanks for the help!  I'm still surprised that I got the tab back on after it came off the top the first time.  Shocked
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / simple zipper top stop on: June 16, 2007 04:42:22 AM
I had to shorten a zipper so I cut off the top as directed in the directions of the pattern.  But now I don't know what to do to keep the zipper tab from coming off the coils on the top. Any ideas on how to add a top stop?  The zipper is a fly for pants and is hidden, so it doesn't have to be pretty.

Thanks!

for me, shipping is always the most expensive part.

yeah, that might be the best idea.  I'll make sure that they know, especially if the partner is not as experienced in overseas swapping.  Thanks!

btw, icon love! doraemon and I share the same birthday.

randomness is good! I can't wait to see your progress.

As I stated a few months back, I am sticking with earth tones.  I picked 4 colors for my blanket: medium brown, tan, cream, and burgundy. So far, I am really liking the results.

Tongue Of course, this could be my mindless, 'in-front-of-TV' project too...

It's good for that!  Cheesy  I have been working on mine little by little.
8  ASIA / Japan / Re: Any crafters living in/near Tokyo, Japan - Meguro? on: February 10, 2007 09:56:11 PM
Hey there! I work in Meguro, so I am down there ALL the time.  I would love to meet up and do some crafting.  I don't really have any other crafting friends, but I do know of a few knitting groups (I'm mostly into knitting, but started sewing again).  Nippori is my crafting mecca.  I try to get down there once every month or two.

When I first got here, I went to a local sewing machine shop.  You can get a basic machine for cheap, but they machines aren't very durable.  In fact, the sales lady told me they are for "mothers of kindergardeners".  However, they would work if you need something basic.  Thrift stores like Hard Off have used machines for cheap.  But if you want a new one, expect to pay at least 10,000 yen for a basic one.

It's been awhile since anyone replied to this, but I was wondering if anyone was working on it?  I had to take a break from knitting to save my wrists, but I am back to knitting this blanket!

Thanks for all the info.  I live in Japan, and have always had to ship out of the country.  Far too often I've had to wait for over a month to get an item.

When talking about shipping, should I mention it in my application/sign-up to the organizer or should I wait until I get my partner?
