As I stated a few months back, I am sticking with earth tones.  I picked 4 colors for my blanket: medium brown, tan, cream, and burgundy. So far, I am really liking the results.

Gothmom asked me to post pictures of the stuff I sent her for her daughter.  However, I still want to see some action shots.   I was back in the US and wasn't able to post these until now.

One of the things that she requested was armwarmers.  So, I made some frilly armwarmers for her!  On top there are two, thin lengths of elastic to give it a gathered look.  On the bottom is some frill.  Along the middle I attached a chain with a skull to add a bit of a goth touch.


The next item I made was another request; a skirt!  Seriously, who doesn't want a new skirt? The picture doesn't do the skirt justice, but it is fantastic and fits like a dream.  I put 2 pieces of elastic in to make the waistband a little thicker.  Along the sides of the front panel I added D rings.  D rings are so fun because you can do a lot with them.  As an example, I attached some chain.  It drapes well with a petticoat.


Lastly, I added a bunch of sweets.  I went for the cutesy (but still yum!) stuff.  I also included a sheet of nail stickers with crowns and crosses.

I received my present from javede a couple days ago!  They are beautiful stitch markers.  I just finished a knitting project that required about 12 stitch markers at one time.  I knew then that I was lacking beautiful markers. 



Thank you THANK YOU so much for sending me a present!  They are prefect and so beautiful.  The picture doesn't do them justice. This birthday was really hard for me because of a lot of things going on in my life including major homesickness, but you made it very special for me. I wish I had time to craft for another Sept baby.  Happy birthday to all of you!

Um, what is a panta?  Is it like a wrist cuff??  I've never heard that term.

you're on craftster and don't know what a panta is?!    just kidding.   it is a headband.  There is a BIG thread for it in the knitting completed projects forum.  I couldn't resist taking a pic of me wearing it. I hope mata doesn't mind.

Here are the crafted stuff: a pink Panta (because everyone needs a panta or two!), a wristband, and a ipod nano sweater


Crafty bought items stuff: pink sparkly and varied weight yarn (the yarn is chunky in places, but normal weight in other places. Great yarn to work with!), stationary, and origami paper


Other bought things! Pink sweets (including pink kitkats and pinky brand breath fresheners), hair accessories, oil papers, and a birthday card.

Thanks a bunch, Mata! It was a ton of fun swapping with you.  I hope you enjoy the stuff as much as I enjoyed preparing it for you.

eek! double posting!  Everyone must be hard at work on their squares.

As requested, here are a picture of my two (unblocked) squares.  I'm going to be adding a darker brown and red eventually.  My boy says it looks like chocolate, and since the boy loves chocolate, I take it as a compliment.  Don't you love it when your sig other, friends, and/or family loves what you're knitting?

Now, for what you have all been waiting for... My stuff from Mata!!  The images are a bit large... sorry! I got a new digi cam and am testing it out.

When I opened up the box (which impressed the post office; it's not common for my little country town to receive packages from such places) I saw a very lovely bag!

It's big enough to hold my stuff, including my day planner. 

Inside the bag I found...

A knitting needle case!!! My needles have been liberated from the bag.  And, although it was pink, it just wasn't doing the job.  I couldn't wait to put my needles in. 


Here is the rest of the goodies that were inside the bag!  A pyramid purse with chocolate inside, paper yarn (yes, yarn made of paper! any ideas of what I can knit?), and some cute socks.  Yay pink and yay for mata!

I got my stuff from Bente today!  What a wonderful thing to come home to after a really boring day at work.    Sorry that the images are so huge!  Hopefully the thumbnails are ok.


Here is the pic of all the goods.  I got chocolate, mints, lip balm, aloe and vit E creme, a little tape measure, and hand scrub!  Candy and beauty supplies... perfect!


Here's a detail shot of the bigger purse.  The outside is celtic knots and the inside is skulls.  How cool is that?! You wouldn't think it, but they go really well together!  the purse also has a handy wrist strap attached.


Here's the last pic; a detailed shot of the smaller purse.  Not only is the material really cute, it is also very handy because of the two separate pockets.
