I made one of these for my partner in the Hello Kitty swap and liked it so much I made myself one too

It's cut out of felt.  I glued a bobby pin under some felt on the back making it into a hairclip

13  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Coffee Cup Coin Purse... on: February 28, 2005 08:39:41 AM
I got the idea for this from this site  I made it from a cup of tea I got yesterday.

I used Velcro Extreme brand fasteners (that stuff is pretty diesel.it sticks to ANYTHING, and stays stuck) and added 2 small ribbon loops for easier opening.
I didnt coat the paper cup with anything, but it seems pretty strong for now, I guess Ill see with time how it holds up.

What do you think?

I modified this pumpkin pattern  and turned it into an apple!
I made up the lid to look more apple-like as I went along.
My mom got one of these as a V-day present....she freaked!

These makes me smile every time I look at them!
Enjoy!

Hey Everyone....
I was perusing the book Stitch N Bitch Nation, saw a SNB in Jersey City and wondered if anyone here has any info about it.
I know it is at a deli called "Basic".  Tried doing an online search for it but could only find a small blurb in someones blog about it.
I would love to join

18  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Mr. Bawkbagawk... on: January 26, 2005 11:53:34 AM
My good lil' buddy needed a christmas hat and scarf set...

I got "Mr. B" from my family's tag sale, I saved him from the clutches of a cheapskate woman who wanted him for 50 cents!, I bid $5, she scoffed, gave me a dirty look, and left.  Anyway, I just couldnt let him go home with someone like that  Wink I dont even know which person in my family was selling him (it was a 12 person tag sale!)  He's one of my favorite things.  He is named after the school mascot from the Brak Show.

19  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / 4 Yarn Finger-Knitted Scarf... on: January 26, 2005 11:29:39 AM
Ta Da...

Close Up:

4 yarns used (what's left over):

I finished this scarf in one sitting using only my fingers!  Look at how much yarn I have left over too!  A great way to put those more expensive fancy yarns to use.  This scarf now belongs to my Grandma...she went around the bowling alley bragging to all her bowling buddies that "My Granddaughter made this...with her fingers" She is incredible!

20  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crocheted Beer Cozies on: January 13, 2005 06:53:45 PM
There is a thread for beer cozies over in knitting so I decided to start one here for crochet....

Beer Bottle Cozies

Beer Can Cozies

All are made from 100% cotton yarn (so they are machine washable) and accented with some fun fur flair
They feel reallly good in your hand and make beer so much more fun to drink  Wink

What do ya think?      ~M
