Hey There Meow!
Yeah pugs are great dogs....they have such big personalities! (even though sometimes they look sad, they just cant help it...its that smooshed face)
What I did was chain enough to safely go over his head with room to spare, formed a ring, then started dc in the round until I hit the legs, sk some sts evenly to accomodate them. I pretty much freestyled this sweater, I hardly think that I could reproduce it if I wanted to!
It took me a couple of hours to make this one, but I did finish it in one day. I had to keep trying it on him and ripping sts out to make adjustments.
The sweater fits so that it is put on over his head...then you have to pull ea front leg through the openings. I tried my best to keep the bottom a safe distance from his peeing range...we will see how that goes
You cant really see the bottom in that pic. So maybe this one will help:
My advice would be to have a dog around that you could fit as you make or take the dogs measurements (esp. neck, chest, how far from neck to legs, around belly behind front legs, and body length)
Once I got to the legs I did a few more rows around then I just kept the stitches half way around to "sit" on his back
Hope this all helps you out
