7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / yay for cough syrup and keychains! on: April 21, 2006 08:06:47 PM
i made this one day when i was sick and alll hopped up on cough syrup, i started out by being REALLY bored and i decided to make a box, then i painted it green, made the front white with Zebra srtips and mogpoged on a flower with a purple sequin in the center

but the inside was empty so i glued a page out of a spainsh dictionary on the inside, smeared glitter glue inside

but it just needed something elso so i glued in my old troll keychain that its arms broke off

still not enough ( now remember i was all hopped up on cough syrup)
so i glues a green pom pom in his hair and then another purplpe sequin in the center of the pompom to look like a turbin that fortune tellers wear

and this is what 3hrs and half a bottle of cough syrup gets you................ ..

blah he doesnt usually come out crooked, he was just camera shy Embarrassed

sorry you cant see much detail because the flash of the camera made the mogpog shin

thxs for looking

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / why could it be? it's another spin off of sakijanes ribbon dress NOW WITH TUTE!! on: April 21, 2006 04:44:28 PM
why yes it is another spin off of sakijane's ribbon dress i made over a year ago, but i made it my own, instead of making it a dress i made it a long shirt and there are no ribbons hanging off the bottom

close up on the applique ( there little gold sequins in the shape of a heart) sorry for the creepy see thoughness of my skin

ooh and the infamous action shot!!, i would explain the face im making but that would envolve me know what happened (and yes that IS a ball of yarn)

please leave comments cause they make me sooo happy Grin

thx

******************************************************************************************

mmmkay  so how i made the dress is (hopefully) simple to explain....

1) i bought a pattern that was a strapless dress and altered it to be just a long top ( basically cut off the skirt part and lengthed it ) make sure it fits you properly !!

2) sewed as patterns said (hemmed and everything)****DO NOT SEW ZIPPER IN YET!!!

3) i used a dress form and wrap ribbon around and pined it at the back seam( where the zipper goes)

4) while still on dress form (after all ribbons where on) i hand sewwed the ribbon on spots in the front so when i wear it the ribbons wont become loose and out of place

5) CAREFULLY take off dress form (back ribbons still pined on) lay on table and baste the ribbons on the back seam  then you machine sew in place and take out basting

6) sew in zipper and add on any thinig you want .....like an applique!

7) walla!! put it on and sit back and let every one gush over your lovey new top!

i hope this makes sense, if you have any questions you can just PM me and hopefully ill be able to help you Wink
