21  Re: Dio De Los Muertos Skull pendant necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by crescentfresh on: September 24, 2008 02:18:49 PM
beautiful! I just made something very similar for a swap. Tis the season for sugarskulls. So did you paint on the design? It is awesome!
I conveniently had many colors of sculpy on hand so [tediously] made the designs with that.
have a look

good work!

Is the craftster photo-hosting link not fully accessible? I am not sure..
If not, I can post on photobucket- and it is on my etsy as well.

23  Mandala-inspired pendant in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by crescentfresh on: September 16, 2008 06:23:11 PM
A recent swap partner sent me a great mandala coloring book, and I've been continuously inspired by the patterns. This clay pendant was produced on the cover of the book, using the cover pattern as a template. Then came a black backing, and some shimmery pigment powder. This thing is my pride and joy of the week, for sure.

Hope it inspires you all as well!

28  Boycott - Inspired Bus Stamp, and more! in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by crescentfresh on: August 06, 2008 08:40:12 AM
I read a wonderful book recently, The Montgomery Bus Boycott and the Women Who Started it .. it inspired me to make this stamp. I usually work with linoleum but the rubber easy-cut called out to me this time.

I like it so much I put it on some notecards, so it doesn't speak too loudly there... but in the context of my zine, it is accompanied with these other social/historical statements: (all the rest are carved on lino)

Comments are welcome, thanks for stopping by.

29  Re: Crazy Quilt Book Cover in Quilting: Completed Projects by crescentfresh on: August 06, 2008 08:29:47 AM
no problem, your work deserves many compliments- i searched your username when i saw the groovy stamps you carved for a swap recently.
Here's a picture of the [unfinished] project of the crazy quilting persuasion.

my plan was to start from the center and just keep adding diff.- shaped scraps until i had a whole quilt. pah! now i have one square. =P

mhmm

silkscreened.

You may also be interested in another print I made (a crazy tricksy 5 layer silkscreen)

I liked making that one a lot, its just messy sometimes to get each layer to line up perfectly. And to print a solid background like that..
