1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Another Color Wheel Quilt on: April 09, 2011 04:17:30 PM
From Last Minute Patchwork + Gifts.  I reduced the pattern by about 2/3rds and machine appliqued the wheel on Quilters Only Parchment.  Backed with pink Minky and bound in Kona - charcoal, I think.  This was a gift for our friends' baby, Eleanor.

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / City Lot quilt on: February 05, 2011 01:35:19 PM
I finally finished the binding on this quilt.  The pattern is called City Lot from the City Quilts book.  I love it so much I am physically unable to give it away as intended and have to make a replacement.  Shocked Cheesy

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / thread for applique on: November 09, 2010 05:13:33 PM
I'm going to be appliqueing some white shapes onto black fabric using fusible web and a satin stitch.  What thread should I use for good coverage?
4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Celtic Knots on: September 26, 2010 07:05:28 AM
This mini quilt was for the MAQ 3 Swap.

5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Pricing small quilt for charity auction on: April 21, 2010 09:43:34 AM
I donated a small quilted wall hanging for a charity auction.  It's a small ticker tape, about fat quarter sized or a bit smaller, with a Kona background and bits from my scrap bin for the tickers, some Amy Butler, Anna Marie Horner, Tula Pink and some no name stuff some new some "vintage-ish".  They need a starting price. I have sold a few quilts that were custom order type things and used cost of materials times 3, then adjusted if necessary to get a price.  This cost me practically nothing and about a morning's worth of time.

Any suggestions for pricing this?  Unfortunately, I don't have a picture.
6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Triangles, triangles on: March 07, 2010 07:02:11 PM
Done.  Finally. I used two charm packs and Quilters Only.  Backing from a LQS.  This is definitely in the better-done-than-perfect category, but I'm keeping it for me and am happy enough with it.  I chain pieced the squares in between working on a more challenging project.  It was much needed brainless sewing.  I still haven't washed it, so it should get a bit more crinkly.

7  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / quilt sandwiching video? on: January 25, 2010 05:37:39 PM
I saw a video online of a quilt basting method in which you roll the front and back on two wooden poles/rods/bars and then you can baste even a large quilt on a table.  I can't find it again.  Sound familiar to anyone?

9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / double sided fleece NFL blanket on: December 22, 2009 09:22:42 AM
It's the Bears vs the Patriots in my friend's house, so she asked me to make them a double sided fleece blanket with the Bears logo on one side and the Patriots on the other.  Fleece is a pain to work with because it's stretchy and heavy, but I was happy with the final quilt.  Spray basting is a life saver!  We took the pictures last minute, so they're kind of crappy.  sorry.

10  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / What are you working on? on: December 03, 2009 05:36:37 PM
I always have a couple of projects going on or in the planning stages.  I thought it might be interesting to have an ongoing thread about our works in progress (WIPs).

Currently, I am working on:

- a fleece NFL blanket for a Christmas gift
- a construction themed lap quilt for a friend's little boy - super quick printed panel with flannel backing.  This one just needs trimmed and bound.
- a baby quilt in lavendar and greens for a shower in January.  It's a solid 6" center square with a "border" of 2" squares in various prints.  I hope it is very soft and girly when it's done.
