21  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Celtic Knots on: March 08, 2011 08:24:29 AM
I just googled around and found some directions.  I might have them bookmarked at home.  The sneaky thing about it is that the knot isn't really continuous.  You can start and stop where the cord overlaps itself.  And use lots of short pins.

I've had great service from this etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/SimplySolidFabric?section_id=7382318 and they have over 200 Kona colors.  The selection at my Joann's is pretty basic.  Hobby Lobby's is a little better if you have one nearby.

(not affiliated with the etsy shop in any way)

Thanks everyone.  You should really check out the City Quilts book.  Everything in it is fantastic.

I love this! I had a hard time thinking about quilts in solid colors but this is very inspiring, and absolutely not boring at all (which is what solids made me think of)
I also love the backing you chose!

You should check out Gwen Marston and Weeks Ringle.  Lots of solids, no boring quilts.   Wink  Lots of inspiration in the Modern Quilt Guilds, too.

Thanks for your kind comments everyone!

I finally finished the binding on this quilt.  The pattern is called City Lot from the City Quilts book.  I love it so much I am physically unable to give it away as intended and have to make a replacement.  Shocked Cheesy

Textile Discount Outlet. The place has like 4 floors of fabrics and other sewing supplies.

Just wanted to note that they are closed Saturdays.

You could finish it and donate it to Project Linus or Quilts of Valor or another local organization.
