First off, this bag...which is the coolest thing ever!!

It is a felted sweater on the outside
Cool leather strap:

check out the inside!  re-conned pants make the best pockets!!

ANNNDDD, a little pouch to match!  This pic also shows the pretty closure of the bag:

ANNNNDDDD, a Starbucks card notebook!!  How cute are these?

Are you jealous yet?  Hang on, check these out!  My new patchy placemats!!!  I am a tiny bit obsessed with table linens right now, and these will look sooooo good on my kitchen table!!

detail:

And now, my christmas tree will be naked no longer!!  Onegroovyday made me the most fabulous tree skirt ever!!

super pretty braiding around the edges:

fabric detail, this woodgrain fabric is now my favorite thing:

My presents were wrapped in these fabric bags, one with hunks, the next with little reindeers!

I've finally got some good pics of the fabulous FGM that Racky sent me!!
We decided that we would sent art doll FGMs to each other, so we can each have our own personal FGM.

Mine is so rad...check her out:

here she is, chilling with my yarn!

close up of her face:

She is wearing a very fancy gown, with a sparkly tiara!  here is a detail of the hem:

I LOVE her feet!!

and check out the detail in her hand:

And she carries a bag, filled with her FGMing equiptment:

There's fairy dust, and my NEW LUCKY NUMBER, and a penny from my birth year....she'll have a bad back from carrying all that stuff!

I totally love her, Racky!  If she were wearing double knit slacks and a stocking cap instead of a gown and tiara, she would look just like my grandma (my fav person!).

My small item is a tiny necklace/pin/shrine!

It is so wonderful!!  I think I'll be too scared to wear it as a necklace (it will end up covered in spaghetti or something horrible like that!) but I love the tiny-shriny-ness of it...I think I'll hang it in the living room, where she can keep watch over everybody!

So, anyway...long story short, Racky is awesome.  Thank you soo much!!  I don't know if you have any other good detail shots, my camera will NOT focus on details, I just deleted 15 blurry photos from my camera!

Your FGM is going in the mail this afternoon!  I hope you like her as much as I like mine!!

23  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap 5 *-*-GALLERY-*-* in The Swap Gallery by superhooker on: December 01, 2009 07:19:44 AM
Ok, so I've finally got some good pics of all the awesome stuff that Freestyle sent me!!  We aren't opening goodies until christmas, so I'll update with more pics when we open!

First up, the most awesome stocking!!

It is everything I love!!  It is all patchy, and it has skulls, and it is ORANGE!!  Alexander has told me that it is our coolest stocking, and he has claimed it for next year, even though his other stocking is bigger.  I told him that he wouldn't get as much stuff, but he didn't care...so that is how cool this stocking is!!

Here it is, hanging with the other stockings:

It fits right in!!

Next, check out the awesome ornaments I got!!!  Freestyle made them in my favorite colors, so they go really well with my living room:

and there's two of these little button wreaths!!  cuteness!!

And here is my big happy....These presents are for me!!!

There is never anything under the tree for me...but these are ALL MINE!!!!  I make people come into the living room to look at the majesty that is MY PRESENTS!!!

Thank you so much Freestyle!!  The stocking is so fabulous, the ornies are perfect, and you have already made my christmas awesome, because I have presents to look forward to!!

24  Re: Fiber Friday 30 October 2009 in Spinning: Completed Projects by superhooker on: October 31, 2009 06:32:19 AM
Ok, I'm a bit nervous, but I'm going to post in my first fiber friday!  I thought I'd just show a bunch of my October spinning.  I've only been spinning for about 2 months...I got my wheel in the end of August, and we built it ourselves from a kit!

Alright, first off, this yarn...it has one ply of targhee from Mountain Colors, and the other ply is a greyish brown CVM I got from my fiber festival.  I'm not too good at maintaining a yarn weight yet, so my first skein is a heavy worsted, second is light worsted, and the third is about sport weight.  There is a little more than 800 yards total...8 oz of fiber:

close up:

Next, this yarn has one ply of wool dyed by Lapoli (I think the colorway was called "watermelons"), and the other ply is something I got from my LYS...can't remember the fiber:

Next, 4 skeins of this yarn...the green ply is corriedale from Louet, and the grey ply is icelandic wool.  It is very squishy!  I was trying to spin something heavier this time.  This is about heavy worsted weight...maybe bulky.  I didn't count the yardage, but I know there's at least 100 yards per skein.

close up:

And I did some dyeing last week!  I dyed 2 pounds of wool all together, but some of it is still drying.  This is what is done:

Some were for specific projects, and others are just for fun.
Thanks for looking!!

25  Re: HAPPY HOMEMAKER SWAP GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by superhooker on: October 27, 2009 07:09:45 PM
Ok you guys...prepare for gasps!  tears of joy!  pictures of my amazing package from Ryverchyld!!!!

The first thing I pulled out of the enormous box was this little wall hanging for above my front door: (sorry this pic is a bit blurry!)

detail:

That picture was taken of me and my Hubbs back before we got married!  It is our most favorite picture we've ever taken... I don't actually know how RyverChyld found that picture, but I'm really glad she did!!  This feels like an anniversary present, because our 7 year mark is coming up on Saturday.  Hubby says it is "freaking awesome!"

Next!  The quilted wreath that I have always wanted!!!  Here it is, hanging in the window over my piano:

close up:

I have had a wreath like this on my wist for some years now!  I LOVE it!  You can't see the cute dangling bits too well in the picture, but there are little fall-y buttons hanging down with the bow.  Adorable!

Ok, take a deeeeeep breath before this next picture.  It may actually make your heart skip beats!
LOOK AT MY NEW QUILT!!!!

Now, check out some of the details!

I love it so much!!!  The quilting is really amazing too!  Here's a pic of the back, so you can see the stitching:

See!!!  All the quilting is done in the shape of little steaming mugs!!!
Then, in all 4 corners, there is this stitching:

Can you see it?  It says "coffee" in a really cool script!!  WWWOOOOOWWWW!!!

Yes, there is actually more...
Now check out my awesome new table cloth!!

And now I stand on the chair to get a pic of the middle:

And here's a detail to show the fabrics:

RyverChyld also sent me a coffee tray, and the cutest mugs ever (SHEEP!!):

and 2 coffee containers (already put to use!)

My new table, all set up for a coffee break:

(we are messy, so I'm making everyone use placemats to keep my tablecloth nice!!!)

I've got one last thing to show, and it may make your brain explode with cuteness, so you've been warned...
a crocheted terrarium!!! (I put the mousey on the roof, so you can see the snail and the toadstool better...there is also crocheted grass in there, my pic turned out so dark!)

snaily!

Sooooo, thank you so much RyverChyld!!!  You totally rock!!
Oh, and you asked what the weather is like in MI right now...here it is:

My favorite time of year!!!

I received my awesome package from Pupper a long while ago, but I had some problems with picture taking, so I'm just now getting them posted.  So sorry, Pupper!!

It has rained every day for the past 2 weeks, so I couldn't get any nice outdoor pics of anything...I was really hoping for a sunny day!

Pupper sent me these two flamingos for my lawn!!  I have loved these things for years, and now I have a pair!!

They are made to look like flamingo skeletons!

Next, Pupper made me these little mounted animal heads...they are so funny!  I know just where I'm going to hang them, too!

Pupper also made me this rad zombie crossing sign!!  I have it hanging on my wall in my studio, and it makes me happy when I look up from the computer.

Next up, this mustashe rack!!  How cute is this?  Pupper even learned how to use a special saw to cut the mustache shape out.  I lurve it!!

Next, a set of nesting dolls!  I have a blank set of dolls on my wist, and pupper thought that maybe I could paint these, but they are so cute!  I love the orange hair!

Lastly, a giraffe head!!!  This sucker is huge!!  Faux taxidermy is so funny to me, and this guy just cracks me up!

Thank you so much, Pupper!!  Everything rocks my socks!

I'm glad that Lana liked the sweater, atsuko!  She looks adorable!!

I finally got my camera working, so here's pics of what the fabulous sheepBlue made for me!
Her art is really gorgeous in person, I hope it shows nicely in these photos...Emma, if you have better shots, you should post them, everything is soooo kickass!!!

First up, this awesome mermaid, (the "fin" part is like embossed leather, it is bumpy to touch!!  There are so many cool parts to this peice!), and the cutest little guy ever!  I didn't get a back shot, but his little buns are buttons!

Next, this beautiful art peice, and a huge set of hand colored cards! (atsuko got one of these!)

Here's a close up of the art, it is really dimensional.  There are like thousands of tiny details!!

Next, this awesome cross stitch from my wist!  This one is to make the Hubby happy...

And this one makes me happy!!

Next up....maybe the family favorite?  That's a hard call....but the Hubby keeps bringing people into the living room to show it off...BUNNIES HAVING TEA!!!!

I'm noticing now that this picture is crappy.  I'll get a better one when I have it all framed and hung.  Please just believe me that it is the best thing ever.

Here is my new knitting/fiber shrine!  The Ram's head is done in polymer clay, and it is really well done!  The background has dictionary pages with "knitting" definitions!

Here's some more polymer clay mastery!  Check out this octo-necklace!  It is kinda fragile, so I'm going to put it in my favorite window as more of a sun-catcher.  Next to it, is the yarn and needles necklace that I definitely WILL wear!

Lastly, but not leastly...My new teacups!!!  They are the tiny style ones, and they say "Bitch" (mine) and "Whore" (hubby's).  In front of them is a supercute necklace with little Buddhas!  LOVE!!

So, yeah, in summary, sheepBlue rocks the IYP house...and I can't wait till we can all get together again!  Thanks so much for everything, I really really love it all!!!

I recieved my awesome package from atsuko!!!  She was just going to send me some felt food for the little ones in my family, but then she decided to go insane and send me tons more too!

First off, here's a couple of things she sent for my kiddo, a Star Wars notebook, and a scarf shaped like a pencil!

Next up, beautiful jewelry!  Atsuko made the stone necklace for my mom, the green glass one for me, the steampunky bracelet for my kiddo, and she made me 6 (6!!!!) nestlaces for me to use for christmas gifts!

And closeups:

And now for all the play food!  There is an amazing array here!

Thank you so much atsuko!!! everything is so freaking adorable!  (the carrots made me squeal a little when I saw them!)

I got my MYB from poprock last week!  (sorry, my stupid real life has been taking up all my craftstering time lately!!)
Check out all this awesome stuff!  I was so excited to open the ball that I forgot to take a picture of it all wrapped up...but here is the yarn, and it is beautiful!!

I got a really awesome roving (4oz of BFL! so pretty!), rockin fat quarters and beads, some tapestry needles (never have enough!) and highlighter tape....how have I never seen this before?

Sewn items!  Here is a needle/hook roll done in a pretty stripe, and a project bag in fun skulls!!!

Next, there was a box of tea (yum!), a very pretty tea cup, whole sheets of Chuck Palahniuk stickers (!!!!!), and the cutest little gift bags:

Last, but not least, here's some little notecards, some sparkly hand sanitizer (lives in my spinning bag now!), a whole mess of really pretty stitchmarkers, and acid green jewelry! (my fav color!!!!)

Thank you sooo much!  I love everything, and I'm going to get started on my new shawl right after I send out my IYP packages.
I spun up the BFL on friday, and it was soo nice!  I'll post a pic of it here once my camera re-charges!
