11  Re: ~FILL a STOCKING FOR ME + a gift~ in The Swap Gallery by EvilRachel on: December 27, 2009 04:59:51 PM
Here's my haul from theballandskein!!  This actually did end up being all I got to open for Christmas, so I'm super grateful.

Fabric coasters (which I really needed, so thank you!), a crocheted wash cloth, two bars of the most delicious smelling soap, and some bath salts, leg warmers, and a head band and wrist cuff made from ties!

A GORGEOUS beaded cami she found for me, a space cleansing kit, two pairs of hair pins (you can't really see, but the lighter pair has a picture of a snowman threatening another snowman with a hair dryer!) and a fabric covered pin (I think it's part of a skull? I love it).

YARN!!!!!!  The three on the right are hemp.  I think the other two are her own home spun.  It's all so beautiful and it feels wonderful.  I can't wait to use it, but I'll probably put it on the shelf for awhile like I do with all of my special yarn so I can stare at it and admire it and just be happy to own it until the perfect project for it comes along.  Does anyone else have yarn proudly displayed on their living room shelves, separate from their stash yarn?

A scarf!  It's pink leopard print striped with black with a sequined martini glass on one end.  This is so perfect for me!  I've been on a major scarf kick lately and this one is bright, sparkly, and animal print.  As I said, perfect!

A felted crocheted hat, which is going to be so warm!  I will definitely get a lot of use out of this, as this has been one of the coldest winters I can remember.  It was -55C one morning in the town where my s.o. lives.  GROSS.

A felted crocheted bag with a tie for a strap!  It has cool little button embellishments sewn on.

As if this wasn't enough, she also sent me some strawberry licorice (Not pictured because I've been eating it the whole time I was taking pics and typing this!) and for my big present she got me a copy of The Happy Hooker!!  She also wrapped some of the gifts in big pieces of fabric...  One is this shiny Christmas plaid which it the perfect size to be a table cloth for my coffee table (it's already on and it looks soooo good) and there was also a nice big piece of animal print fabric!

Thank you so much for being such an awesome and generous partner!  You certainly made my Christmas brighter.

Here's my box of goodies from theballandskein!

The box was STUFFED full!

A kitty checking out all of my lovely gifts!  I had to put them back in the box and put the box in my spare room in the hopes that I'll be able to hold off until Christmas.  Out of sight, out of mind and all...  Yeah right!   Grin

***This post is pic HEAVY and may cause uncontrollable jealousy***

My Mum called me today asking me if I was expecting a package.  She said the lady at the post office had been admiring the artwork on the box.  I immediately thought of the big lovely box Calliel had posted a teaser pic of, but I didn't want to get my hopes up.  After some wheedling, whining, and begging my Ma came over, and sure enough, she had Calliel's package with her!!

Look what was inside!

Beautifully wrapped presents, suckers, and a box full of stained glass cookies.  (Yes, they taste as good as they look!)

Now here's where things get crazy.  I opened the first box and pulled out...  A DRESS!  A black and hot-pink halter neck 50's inspired dress straight out of my wists.  I was too excited not to take action shots...  After uploading them, I realize I probably should have.  But, what the hell!  Loooooooook at my dress!!!

(My kitty was admiring it!)

The look on my face might have turned you to stone...  But take note of the skull, it will be mentioned later!

So I was completely giddy, dancing around like a maniac with my kittens meowing at me, demanding my Mum try a cookie (which she did, she agreed with my opinion of deliciousness) when she pointed out that there was still more to open.  Oh my.

Next, I opened...

A FREAKING HALF APRON!!!  I have so many of these wisted...  And it's leopard print and red.  And it has pockets.  With bows.  And a scalloped bottom edge.  And red piping.  It's so pretty and perfect and I couldn't believe it...

But...  why were the pockets so lumpy?  I'll tell you why...  Hand-embroidered mousies...  One for each of my babies...  With their NAMES on them.  She stalked my posts to find out their names.  And she made them presents.

Crash's mousie

And Jack's.

Now they had already figured they'd hit the jackpot with the box and wrapping paper

(pleeeeeeease ignore the embarrassing stain on the carpet.  It's not visible to the naked eye, but it sure does show up with the flash)

but the mousies caused kitty PANDEMONIUM!

Of course, Jack immediately stole Crash's...  So Crash took Jack's.  Silly kitties.

Now I'll bet that you're all overcome with lust and jealousy, and your wisting fingers are sore, but I'm STILL not done.  Remember that skull I said to take note of?  It's actually a purse mirror covered in poly clay...  Which she made to match this purse!

I know.  Skulls, roses, and hearts.  My picture came out blurry so you'll have to use your imaginations, but it's lined with hot pink, and it has an inner pocket.

Holy, holy crap Calliel!  You spoiled me rotten, thank you so, SO much!  I'm trying to think of a way to put my gratitude and excitement into words, but I'm a little overwhelmed by all of this treasure!  Thank you, thank you, THANK Y0U!
