1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Gnome Riding A Snail! on: January 27, 2010 10:00:26 PM

So my boyfriend's neighbor has these garden gnomes in their front yard, one of them being a gnome riding a snail, and it never ceases to amuse me. So while I was browsing Joann’s I was super excited to find out some of their seasonal stuff on sale consisted of gnomes, one who also happened to be riding a snail. So of course I bought it with the intent to re-paint it and make it all happy and neon colored.

But as per usual I had a little crafting accident. My cat was having one of her super hyperactive moments, and decided to run through the wet paint, and run all over my apartment as well as knocking my half way finished gnome into wet black paint. Not too much damage was done but I had a hard time trying to cover the black paint on his face with the skin tone color. Instead I covered it with bright red and turned him into a zombie gnome… riding a neon colored snail.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Hoodie recon on: July 14, 2009 08:00:23 PM
During highschool one of my best guy friends had this Monty Python hoodie that I was absolutely in love with.  He promised he would give it to me when we graduated and he did.  It had a big hole in the side so originally I meant to just fix it but then I kept cutting, and cutting...and cutting a little more until magically it became my size.  I royally f'd up the sleeves so they were really uneven and was scared to mess with the hood even the though it was gigantic. Then I pretty much put it away in fear he would cry when he saw it and I wasn't really that happy with it myself.

Now a year later I've decided to butcher it some more.  Fueled by some unknown bravery I cut off the hood and found myself really liking it.  The sleeves are still a hot mess, any advice on what I could with em would be greatly appreciated.  I haven't really done very many successful recons and I'm scared if I try to fix them I'll just mess it up more.

What it currently looks like/couldn't find the before pictures:

3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Parking Space Decor?! on: September 05, 2007 06:28:46 PM
My bestfriend and I are seniors but go to different highschools. At her school the seniors get to paint their parking spaces this saturday and she invited me to come help her. For reasons beyond me she seems to think i'm an amazing artist, obviously I do like to do crafty things, but when in comes to freehand drawing I suck. I'm pretty much brain dead right now so any ideas/themes/tips you have would really help me out.
4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Parking Spaces on: September 05, 2007 01:31:53 PM

She seems to think i'm an amazing artist, I do like to do crafty things, but when in comes to freehand drawing I suck. So I immediately thought stenciling but I've only stencled shirts. Once I tried to stencil on a binder and it turned out hideous. So if any one has any tips or other ideas that would be greatly appreciated.
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Best Sister In The World on: April 21, 2007 08:35:41 PM
My sister and I have always got along great, it could be the 10-ish year difference. But now that i'm getting older I can talk to her about everything and would consider her one of my best friends. The problem is that about 4 years ago she moved back to Sweden, and now i'm lucky if I see her twice a year. Also this summer I probably won't go to Sweden (I usually do) because i'm going on a student ambassador trip instead. So I wanted to make her something just because I miss her but I don't know what. Any ideas would be very helpful.
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pop-Tabs and Bottlecaps on: September 09, 2006 06:58:58 PM
I think this is my first post ever. If not then it's def the first time i've posted anything i've made. Like many before me I was a long time lurker, except when I joined I continued lurking. Shame on me! So I figured it was about time I joined in on the fun. Comments appreciated. =)

Originally I was going to make a pop-tab braclet from the tutorial on here, but spaced on the fact that I was supposed leave the little circle things attached. So this happened instead.

My ex gave me two zip-lock bags full of bottle caps.
