Yes it makes sense.  Be sure to stuff before you do that decrease to 6 stitches. It'll be pretty tight!

Good idea, thanks!

That catterpiller is SO cute!

Did you knit or crochet him?

He is crocheted.

Hey Homerof2~
Does the teddybear have to be handmade?

I'd prefer it handmade but wouldn't turn down a nice plush purchased one  Grin

I claim bhean for this:

Cool baby things, I'm 5 months pregnant and we got rid of EVERYTHING after the last kid.  I'd love some funky receiving blankets, decorated onsies or sleepers, etc - stenciled, embroidered, appliques, whatever - bright colours or black/white are my favs here.  We don't use a crib or change table, so wouldn't have a use for accessories for those.

This is my 5th pick (3 have been received)

My list:

A large tote bag - with a zipper would be great but not necessary.  Nice and bright!!!!

A summer purse - with wooden handles, if possible.

Oven mitts - any material but something with food, chili peppers or fruit would be nice!

I'd love a plush teddy bear!

12" squares - any pretty colors and nice pattern would be fine but if you need inspiration, check out this website: http://www.quilterscache.com/BlocksbySizeC.html

A teapot picture with the teapot measuring about 3" x 3" and the Aida cloth at least 6" x 6" so I can frame it to match the few others I have.

Any picture that features tulips, scarecrows or sunflowers

Wooden Items

Rail pet - if you're a wood worker you may know what I mean but if not, check out this for ideas:

Eeyore, Pooh or Tigger crocheted in thread - I already have Piglet and he's getting lonely for his friends.

Slippers - ladies size 9 in dark blue or dark green

I collect miniature kitchen utensils so anything to add to this collection would be appreciated.

This is really out there and I doubt anyone will actually do it but if you want to send me a small, electric chocolate fountain, I would be so happy.

A bit about me:  I live in Alberta, Canada.  I'm a stay at home Mom and have just started a casual job at a bank, which I am totally loving.  I like to crochet, sew, quilt, tole paint and some times cross stitch.  I'll usually try a craft at least once.  I totally love swapping!

The way the pattern is written, when you get to the end of one color, you have 12 stitches and then you change to another color and continue on.  I thought that if you added one more row and decreased down to 6 stitches before changing to the next color, you might get more definition between the balls and that's what I am hoping for when I make the next one (does that make sense?)

What pattern did you use?  I'd love to have it!

I made this for a swap but was so proud of it I decided to post it here too!

It's about 6 inches long and maybe 1 1/2" around.  It's the first time I've made a crochet critter and I plan to make another one of these but with a few changes that I think would make it even better.

5708  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Tiny Pink, Orange and Yellow keyring quilt!! on: June 20, 2006 06:49:15 AM
It's very cute!

I'm wondering, though, are you finding it too big now that you are using it? (which I assume you are)

HA HA  I like how you used math to fit the rules!! Clever girl!

After teaching my boys for 12 years, I guess there's a little bit of math teacher in me!  Grin    My niece and nephew hate it when the English teacher comes out in me and I correct their grammer while chatting on MSN!
