Did you use stencils or freehand?

I used some freehand and some I traced from a pattern I had.
5482  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / My 3 teapots on: November 08, 2006 11:30:43 AM
I used to do lots of cross stitch when I was younger but then left it behind when I learned other crafts.  A few years ago, my sister-in-law gave me this teapot for my birthday:

and I really liked it and when she told me that she had other patterns, I borrowed the book and over time have completed 2 more:

I have another one on the go which I hope to finish soon and a few more I'd like to make.

Yet another project I have painted (this new computer is so much fun!)

5484  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / 3 snowmen projects on: November 08, 2006 11:20:59 AM
Now that we have a computer at home that can handle my sons camera, I'm having fun posting pictures of things I've made Grin

These are 3 snowmen projects that I have painted over the last few years.

           In my dining room:

                                  In my kitchen:

This is a shelf sitter and he's usually on the opening between our kitchen and living room but the lighting was so poor there, I had to put him on the china cabinet:

Have you ever tufted yourself??

Never tried it, just admired it!

I kid you not, my parents had dozens and dozens of these pictures hanging in their house and I would have been too intimidated to have tried - there is no way I could compete with the 'professionals' that made theirs  Grin

I forgot about that nasty Airwaves gum! My boyfriend loves it, but anything black licorice just doesn't work for me.

I have yet to try it but now I have to today - I'll let you know what I think of it.  The other candy has been great!
5487  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Stacked penguins on: November 08, 2006 07:51:29 AM
It's probably tacky to 'revive' your own post but I forgot I had posted this way back in 2006 and so I was going to post them today and realized, after some searching, that they were already on here but I updated the photo since I'm better at taking pictures now and added the close up.

I made this stack of little penguins in 2006 and thought I would share them with you.

With the exception of the base, they are made for one piece of wood and that meant that everywhere there was an opening between the penguins, I had to drill a small hole and then thread my saw blade through that before starting to cut - it was one of the most challenging cutting jobs I had done up to that date.

Close up of my favorite guy (wouldn't you look like this if someone was stepping on you?)

5488  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery - November 2006 on: November 08, 2006 07:43:45 AM
Craftydeb and I are in the process of doing a personal swap - I have received her items but she is still awaiting the arrival of mine.  I've never done a personal swap like this before and it was an interesting process - PMs back and forth to decide what to swap, etc!

So, I had asked for some hot sauce for my hubby to add to his collection and she found some great ones:

and I also wanted some colorful granny squares so I could finish my afghan (all squares have been collected through swaps) and she sent me 6 wonderful ones, which means I now have enough to put this thing together:

THANKS Deb, for everything!

Hopefully bagheera won't mind me posting this picture in her thread (if you do, PM me and I will remove it).

I realized yesterday that I have a 'non-traditional' moose hair tufting picture and so I thought I would share it (I did not make this, it was made by a lady in Fort Providence, NWT)

I call this beaver and stump 'non-traditional' because most are flower pictures.

Chloeiscrazy had picked one of the wishes I had for my husband and she made him a stencilled shirt with a Coke product on it.  I took a picture of just the stencil so you could see it better:

Thanks!
