5421  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: 2006 Wishlist May on: May 04, 2006 02:10:42 PM
Here's my list:

Fabric

Fat Quarters of purple or yellow - I'm planning to make a quilt for our bed and am collecting fabrics for it right now.  Small prints or patterns would be best but nothing creepy, I like pretty rather

Sewing

I would like a bib apron.  Any color but black or pink

A nice big tote bag.  Bright colors!

Oven mitts

I'd love a plush teddy bear - around 12" would be great!

Quilting

12" squares - any pretty colors and nice pattern would be fine but if you need inspiration, check out this website:  http://www.quilterscache.com/BlocksbySizeC.html

Cross-stitch

A teapot picture with the teapot measuring about 3" x 3" and the aida cloth at least 6" x 6" so I can frame it to match the few others I have.

Any picture that features tulips, scarecrows or sunflowers

Wooden Items

Something to stand on my display shelves, that's under 12" tall, and relating to tulips, scarecrows or sunflowers.

Rail pet - if you're a wood worker you may know what I mean but if not, check out this for ideas:   http://www.thewinfieldcollection.com/csearch.aspx?search=rail+pet

Crochet

An amigurumi - something from the animal kingdom

12" squares - nice bright colors and any pattern is great.

Eeyore, Pooh or Tigger crocheted in thread - I already have Piglet and he's getting lonely for his friends.

Other

I collect miniature kitchen utensils so anything to add to this collection would be appreicated.

I need a summer purse - nothing too big - sewn, knitted, crocheted or any other kind you make.

A Surprise - anything nice you would want to make for me  Grin

About me:  I'm from Alberta, Canada, and am a stay at home Mom of 2 teenage sons.  I love making crafts (quilt, crochet, sew) and swapping with people.  My favorite colors are dark green and dark blue.

i think EVERYBODY gets confused and messes up their first swap.  i certainly did!

I'm right with you there - it's confusing  Shocked  at first.

ksta - I didn't mean to sound rude earlier (that wasn't my intent)

There is a very similar pattern on line that's free:

Just as a warning, getting the first few rows of this one is a major doozy. It took me 4-5 attempts to get it right.

That's too bad you and others had trouble with this pattern, I didn't and if I had of, I wouldn't have suggested it.  Thanks for sharing that there could be problems  Grin

Wonderful!!!

I, too, admire people who can just crochet and come up with something great.

5428  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Re: How Did You Find Craftster? / Craftster Sightings! on: May 04, 2006 01:07:39 PM
I was reading through an e-mail from another group I belonged to and this lady was talking about a wonderful swap she was doing with different group and so I e-mailed her for more information since I was looking for another group to join.  She pointed me to Craftster and I've been hooked ever since!!!!!!!!!
5429  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: The FOC secret project round 3!! (SIGNUPS 4-15/5-20; FIRST MAILOUT 5/31/06). on: May 04, 2006 10:18:27 AM
I just have to put in my 2 cents here - I got so tired of explaining the swap process to people and then re-explaining it because they just don't understand and then trying a different way to explain because they still don't understand (you'd think I was talking a different language) that I finally got to the point that I, too, just say a friend made it.

But, it's when they go on to ask what friend and I have to say someone from Australia or England that the confusion begins.........oh well, such is life  Grin

And I never tell people - oh, my friend (insert Crafterster nickname) - because that would cause even more confusion.

Well, no matter the size, I'm going to claim simplyfussfree for some 'grandma' squares.  This is my second claim.

Here's my list:

Fabric

Fat Quarters of purple or yellow - I'm planning to make a quilt for our bed and am collecting fabrics for it right now.  Small prints or patterns would be best but nothing creepy, I like pretty rather

Sewing

I would love a full apron (with a bib) - adult size large.  Any color but black or pink

A tote bag with a zipper.

Other

I collect miniature kitchen utensils so anything to add to this collection would be appreicated.

A candy goodie bag (with just a little chocolate as I'm allergic but my family would love it) - I know this might be a strange request but I've seen some that others have received and they look so good!

About me:  I'm from Alberta, Canada, and am a stay at home Mom of 2 teenage sons.  I love making crafts (quilt, crochet, sew) and swapping with people.  My favorite colors are dark green and dark blue.
