Homerof2, what kind of thread is on the tall spools?  Is it machine-specific?

Oh, this not having a computer at home is going to soon kill me - sorry for taking so long to answer this.

The tall spools are just regular, every day sewing thread (called Mettler and it's not cotton) that I buy at the craft store and sew everything with.

I just received the most amazing scarf from Samsara! I'll post pics as soon as put my face on  Wink You are all going to faint from jealousy!

Are we going to be jealous of the scarf or of the face you are 'putting on??"   Grin

Sorry for asking what may be an obvious question, but when measuring the squares, is it done across or diagonally (I may be thinking about tv screens here)?

I guess people measure different.  I always measure from the middle of one side across to the middle of the other side.

I claim SoonFamo-Artiste for:

*Fabric
Anything Green, Blue, Turtle, or CareBear Theme)

This is my 3rd claim.

I'm in Alberta, Canada and here's my list:

Sewing

A tablecloth (70" x 50") with a snowflake, sunflower or leaf themed fabric.

A butcher style apron (adult large) with no pockets (see my likes below for fabric ideas.)

Things for my hubby

My hubby and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary this month and I thought it would be fun to make a list of items he might like and surprise him with something.  So, here's my "I love my husband and want to do something nice for him" list!

A butcher style apron (adult large) in a masculine fabric -he likes tools, wildlife, red, blue or black.  (I'm tired of seeing him wearing my aprons when he wears one)

He loves doing carpentry as a hobby and I thought a cross stitch picture would be fun - I would like it to say 'So many tools, so little time' and also have some tools on it.

He collects hot sauce (3-5 oz. bottles) and any interesting or unique looking ones to add to his collect would be wonderful.

He really likes peanut M&Ms, macaroons, Oh Henry bars and jelly belly jellybeans and I know he would appreciate a goodie box containing these (and even other chocolate items).

Other

Beads - I have being making some jewelry and would like to make more but I need more beads.  Please no plastic!  I like all colors, I like neat shapes and different sizes.

I like watches that have 'fun' designs on the face or in the band.

I have themes in my house each season so I like things made with sunflowers, tulips, scarecrows, snowmen or snowflakes.  I also like dark green and dark blue.

I guess these blocks are supposed to be 12.5" unfinished?  On Quilterscache it says the block is 12".  I know most blocks are 12.5" unfinished.  Anyway...  mine turned out to be a little over 12" so I just trimmed it down.  Oh well, I guess I'll just do that with all the rest and it will work out.  Hopefully!  lol

I, too, trimmed mine down to 12" and I think that's going to work out fine!

Yeah, I'm up for grabs.  Unfortunately I don't have computer access at home right now and have to find other places to get on-line.  So, I'm a little worried that I am going to stall this with my small list - I promise to add tomorrow in the later a.m. if no one has picked me.

After a few days of worrying, thinking this was lost (it took foreeeeeeever), my package from reneecarol has now arrived!

She sent me a really cute little tote bag, a scarf in gorgeous colors and a 'girly' notepad.
