I managed to resist this swap...For a whole minute. What a great idea!

You lasted 30 seconds longer than me  Grin

I was going to take a break from swapping for the month of June because I've just about emptied my pocketbook on postage this month and then I see this.   At first I thought, no, I can be strong but then when I saw the first mail out wasn't until July, I decided I could join

Oh my, what a day I've had - 2 parcels on the same day  Grin

I received a wonderful apron from mata and she also included some purple/yellow fabric for my quilt!!!!!

Again, I have a picture but it's on my sons came which he just left with so, if she can't post a picture, I will on Monday.

I received an absolutely yummy candy goodie box from Simplyfussfree today!

As I told her, it's like she knows me!  The candy she sent couldn't have matched my likes any better  Grin  and I didn't even tell her what I liked.

AND, as a bonus, she sent some purple fabric for the purple/yellow quilt I am making.

I have taken a picture and was going to post it later today but my son took his camera for the weekend (and that's what I use) so I can't post before Monday.

Just what I've been looking for!

I've wanted to make a purse but had no idea how.  THANKS!

I can't tell for sure from the picture if the shoes are canvas (they look like it) and I had a pair of shoes like this once and I dyed them with fabric dye.  I made the dye up in my washing machine and then threw the shoes in - they came out great.  I dyed mine orange  Grin

Just be sure to run the washing machine through with no load (or old towels) to clean it out.

Mat has a hole in his tummy that we're a little unsure about, but we love him just the same. Wink

Maybe Mat could be a pencil topper!   Grin

I'll be sure to tell my Mom how much you all like her quilt!

The stuff I have planned is all time-intensive, but I don't want to just send one thing since the packages from the last two FOC swaps have been so awesome *and* crammed full with stuff.

I'm trying not to get caught up in what has happened in the last rounds, otherwise I'll feel overwhelmed!  I can be the kind of person that worries that what I send won't be enough or good enough and then I tend to want to add more and more but then it gets to be too much for me, time wise and money wise.  So, I've decided to go for quality rather than quantity  Grin
5380  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help Me!!! Why Can't I Hold It Properly on: May 25, 2006 07:35:18 AM

I hold my yarn llike I do when I knit, hook and yarn in the same hand, and I throw the yarn as if I was knitting.

When I crochet my way i am like a speed demon,

I have a friend that crochets this same way (she's a knitter who taught herself to crochet) and she produces great projects!

I say don't worry about what the book says, just go with what's most comfortable to you!!!!!  Crafting is supposed to be fun, not stressful  Grin
