5351  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap 10 gallery! on: May 31, 2006 09:13:42 AM
Batgirl let me know last night that she had received the apron I sent her and I've been dying to post this picture - not only to show off the apron but because I convinced my 14 year old son to model it.  He would only do so if I promised not to take his head in the picture and if I promised not to show the picture to his Dad or brother and if I promised not to show it to anyone we know personally.  So, I have stuck to all those 'guidelines' but wanted to post it here.

batgirl wanted a retro apron, something that Lucy would have worn back in her day.  She gave me a number of color and pattern suggestions and the one I could find and was happiest with was lime gingham.  This pattern was tons of fun to make (for the most part) and it took over 3 yards of fabric (lots of ruffles).

So, here it is:

Either regular or applique is fine by me.

I'm up for the challenge of applique but I guess majority rules in a democracy!
5353  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / 12" Quilt Block Swap on: May 30, 2006 06:00:45 PM
I'm interested in doing a swap for 12" quilt blocks and I want to see if there's any interest from others.

If there was enough interest, I would start signups the middle of August and then have the mailing date close to the end of September.

Here's what I'm thinking:

When you joined you would have to give 3 color preferences or you could say 'any color' if you don't care what colors you receive.

You would be asked to make 3 squares for your partner, following their color preferences.

The choice of design would be up to you (there's lots of free patterns on the net if you don't have pattern books.)

So, anyone interested?  Any comments on my ideas?

Laural, I gasped when I saw the quilt in your pillow picture and was going to comment on it and then I saw the same pattern in BlooCanoe's quilt.  That's a fantastic pattern.  What's the name of it?  I'm always looking for new patterns to try.

BTW--also like your new pic Homer2!

Thanks!  Sometimes I think I should settle on one picture and leave it there (like others do) but this is how I get to show some of my work  Grin
5356  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ongoing Fabric Swap II on: May 30, 2006 08:52:33 AM
Well, I guess everyone's back from holidays!  This board is really moving.

I thought I had stalled this so I went through my stash and added some more fabric, took pictures and was going to head to hubby's office to upload them but thought I should check here first, just in case someone had already claimed my stuff.  They had and many other claims have been made too.  So, now I've got new pictures for when I make another claim.......looking for purple/yellow and now fruit and veggie fabrics  Grin

I'm not sure if I've stalled this swap or if too many of you were away for long weekends  Cheesy

I think I'll give it today and if nothing has happened, I'll see if I can find some other fabric to add.

Oh, I can't wait to see the picture, too!  As a quilter, I know how much work goes into pieced quilts and love seeing other peoples work.

You are one lucky person, BlooCanoe
