That is a fantastic quilt - I love those colors together.

If you're looking for a good site for free patchwork patterns go to the Quilter's Cache free pattern page. Awesome!

I couldn't agree with you more - this is a great free site!

Wow, they are fantastic!

Is that an afghan under the star quilt or are you putting a lacy edging on it?

Oh, kmac, I think you have competition for the most unusual stocking - the Jersey one is very unusual too!

What a great package you sent trinashere!

My package from Ratzrule arrived today.  Here are pictures and a list of the items used.

Magnets (something retro)
Earrings (something heart shaped)
Bracelet (something oval and blue, something heart shaped, something shiney)

Picture frame (small mirrors, lime green)
Dolphin (glow in the dark) - there were actually many of these, I only showed one
Scarecrow (sticker)
Pen (something purple and shiney - the wire wrapped around it, something fuzzy and a pom pom - the pom pom head,
ink, something to do with literature or writing)

Windchimes (silverware)

Lollipop (spider) there were many of these but, again, I am only showing one
Box (fabric flower - on the top, irridescent sequins)

She also included a note written on pink paper (something pink, something you can read)

Thanks for everything!

kmac, fantastic job on everything!  I love the vest and the sock monkey.  I, too, want to know how you made that gourd stocking - talk about original!

trinashere, only one of your pictures is showing up for me.
5276  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 12" Crochet Square of the Month Craftalong - STARTED! on: November 27, 2006 07:39:54 AM

I have no idea where the half double crochet stitch is supposed to go in at the end of the row and how you're supposed to DC around it.

I'll try and help with both parts of your question - where is the half double crochet stitch supposed to go in - this is what the pattern says:  join with hdc in 3rd ch of beg ch 3 to make corner  So, when you get around the square to this point, make the half double crochet in the top of the beginning chain 3 from the same round.

and this is part of the disucssion we had earlier on how you are supposed to double crochet around it (on pages 9 and 10):

at the end of the first round you made 1 hdc into the 3rd of beginning 3 ch. That hdc formed a loop, which is the corner of the square. You insert your hook into that loop. Hope this helps.

Be sure to insert the hook INTO the loop!

If this doesn't help, ask again and maybe some one else can explain it more clearly!

My package was MIS SENT. Has that ever happened to anyone?

I had a swap package (with a different group) supposed to be coming from Kansas to me here in Canada - it arrived after making a side trip to Toyko, Japan.  Not sure what happened but it arrived with 2 labels (one in English and one in Japanese) saying it had been misdirected - but it got even worse - Toyko sent it to the wrong sorting plant in my province (1 1/2 hour south of me) and they directed it to the proper sorting plant (1 1/2 hours north of me) and then it came back to my town.  Weird how the postal system works!

At least it was just a "little' rant  Grin
5279  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Quilt Block of the Month Craftalong on: November 25, 2006 10:56:25 AM
I figured that since I was the one anxious to keep this going, I better get at least one square done this month.  So I picked the easiest one!

The contrast between the cream and white is much better in person but no matter how many pictures I took, I couldn't get it to show up very good.

Yeah, and that someone is me  Grin   but I'm sure my partner isn't going to be the first to receive since Canada Post has been so slow lately!  But, here's hoping..............
