5191  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: FOC 4 Swap! (Signups 7/4 - 7/20; First Mailout 8/03/06) on: July 04, 2006 05:56:32 PM
I'm thinking about joining but have a question about this:

I am strict about DCN numbers. If you have no dcn numbers, this will be noted in your feedback, no matter what.

I can't get a DC number if I'm sending international (from Canada), so are you planning to allow for this?

Homerof2 - I love the fabric in the middle of your third square.

I got that fabric from a swap I did with someone in Australia.

Wow, there are so many fantastic things this round!

I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one that 'stretched' the rules this time - some did it in size and some did it in number.  But, it's back to tiny for me next round  Grin

I love the look of that blanket!  The close up looks so soft and cuddly.

I used 17 skeins of velvet spun yarn...lion brand, I think.  It was such a pain, seeing as the ends shed until I melted them shut. >_<

I've never used this kind of yarn before - how did you melt the ends shut?

I claim craftykate for:

yarn or anything yarn related- I knit and crochet. I always have a million projects going at once so I'm always in meed of more stitch markers and such.

This is my 6th claim (3 have been received and 2 are in the mail)

My list:

A large tote bag - with a zipper would be great but not necessary.  Nice and bright!!!!

A summer purse - with wooden handles, if possible.

Oven mitts - any material but something with food, chili peppers or fruit would be nice!

I'd love a plush, homemade teddy bear!

12" squares - any pretty colors and nice pattern would be fine but if you need inspiration, check out this website: http://www.quilterscache.com/BlocksbySizeC.html

A teapot picture with the teapot measuring about 3" x 3" and the Aida cloth at least 6" x 6" so I can frame it to match the few others I have.

Wooden Items

Rail pet - if you're a wood worker you may know what I mean but if not, check out this for ideas:

Eeyore, Pooh or Tigger crocheted in thread - I already have Piglet and he's getting lonely for his friends.

Slippers - ladies size 9 in dark blue or dark green

12" squares in nice bright colors

I collect miniature kitchen utensils so anything to add to this collection would be appreciated.

This is really out there and I doubt anyone will actually do it but if you want to send me a small, electric chocolate fountain, I would be so happy.

A bit about me:  I live in Alberta, Canada.  I'm a stay at home Mom and have just started a casual job at a bank, which I am totally loving.  I like to crochet, sew, quilt, tole paint and some times cross stitch.  I'll usually try a craft at least once.  I totally love swapping!

I received from stellato_escuro yesterday.  She sent me an amigurami bunny - she says it's the first one she has made - don't you think she did a good job??!

She also added a scarf to the bunny, to keep it warm during our cold Canadian winters  Grin

I received a great package yesterday from loves2experiment.  She was sending me knit dishcloths but also included two wonderful pieces of fabric (yes, the yellow piece has frogs on it.)

Homerof2 received my OTT but i think she didn't post yet because she didn't know what it was *laughing*.  I let her know that it's a drawstring pouch, but  I sent it flat (open/undrawn) because the bottom of it has card in it to keep a round shape, so it made sense to send it that way.

When my package from tiph_thompson first arrived, I thought, Wow, she sent me a wonderful sunflower hanging - it was much larger than 4x4, but, hey, who am I to complain.

Then I got this cryptic PM from her saying to 'pull the obvious thing to pull', to see what the item really was.  So, I went back to look at it again and realized that she must mean to pull what I thought was the hanger.  I pulled it, and this is what appeared:

As much as it's cute closed, I think I'm going to use it open and hang it in my kitchen during my fall season.

Thanks, Tiph, for this wonderful item!
