I am the designer of this kit (plus 20 +) other box kits.  so glad that you all liked the box.

Oh my, now that we have the designer of these boxes involved in this discussion, you might want to direct any questions to her  Grin  She was very friendly when I talked to her in Calgary, Alberta!

morning glory, wow, did that picture bring back memories!

My family and I travelled to Hawaii a few times when I was young (long, long ago) and on one trip I got a set of poi but had totally forgotten about them until I saw the picture of yours.  Now that led me to wonder where they might be and then I remembered that just last night I had seen a box in my storage room that I knew contained some stuff from my growing up years - so off I headed to the storage room, opened the box and there they were!  Thanks for the memories!

It would take me about 10 hours to make something like that.  Did you find it too, too hard? Did you use quilt batting?

I estimate it took me about 8 hours and I wouldn't say it was hard, just different than anything I have done.  Now that I have done one, the second would go much faster and I would pick my material better.  The animal print was great to work with and stuck well but, for some unknown reason, the green didn't want to stick and I ended up fussing with it lots.

There is quilt batting under each green section and was supposed to be on the top of the lid (so it could be a pin cushion) but I skipped that part.

Is it too early to send out?? Should I hang on for a week or so??

It's never too early to send - the sooner the better, I think  Grin

I would love to try one, so I googled the name and came up with this link for the ones that are looking for a pattern, this looks to be about the same thing.

That's from the same company - I googled Charted Imagery and found a number of places that sell their kits.

Was it expensive?

I paid about $12 Canadian for the pattern.

is it difficult to put back together?

Not at all because all the sides are connected to the bases.  You just pull the sides together and put the lid on.

Was the company called "charted imagery?"

Yes, that is the name of the company.  This is what I found for their contact information (their is an e-mail address link at the bottom)

http://www.craftcanada.com/build_html.asp?TABLE=ARTIST&KEY=AC927283&DISPLAY=YES

and this website has pictures of their products:  (it says to click on the Company Name to be taken to their website but that doesn't work because I don't think they have a website)
