5141  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 12" Crochet Square of the Month Craftalong - FEBRUARY on: February 01, 2007 07:16:34 AM
Good for you to get it done within the month  Grin

Very beautiful!

I'm in awe of quilters who are brave enough to try free motion quilting - I did once on a very small part of a quilt and ripped the whole thing out when I didn't like the look of it and now I'm not brave enough to try again.

One question - what you do put on the label on the back that is shown in the first picture?

Looks good to me!  How big (or little) is it?
5144  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 12" Crochet Square of the Month Craftalong - FEBRUARY on: January 31, 2007 06:01:02 PM
In some place in the world it is February 1st (even if it's still January 31st here) so I am going to go ahead and post this month's squares.

I wanted to go with a heart theme this month and hopefully the people trying the easy square won't find it difficult and those making the experienced won't find it too easy.

I made the easy square exactly as the instructions say and it worked out to 12" for me.  I used a size 5.0 hook.

I used a size 5.0 hook for the experienced square but found that I had to add an additional row of hdc to get it to 12".

5145  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Swap a yard of fabric swap - February on: January 31, 2007 08:47:05 AM
I have now been approved for this swap and so I'm ready to make my first claim.  Hopefully I do this right!  I would like the following from ShaynaYasha:

A FQ of Tropical Rain Forest
A FQ of Colorful Starburst
A 1/2 yard of Soft Pastel Baby

This is what I have to offer:

Orange and purple flowers (it looks vintage but it's brand new) - cotton - FQ
Yellow and white stripes with blue flowers - I believe this is cotton - I have 2 FQ of this (not a 1/2 yard - they are 2 seperate pieces)
Medium green with dark green fuzzy designs - I don't know what kind of fabric this is as I received it in another swap and the
sender didn't know what it was.  It's smooth on the back and the dark green designs are raised on the front.  PM me if you want more details.  FQ

White with blue polka dots - cotton - 1/2 yard or FQ
White with blue stripes - cotton - 1 yard (I will divide this up so if you only want a FQ or 1/2 yard, that is fine)

Multi colored stripes - cotton - FQ
Crayon material - cotton - FQ
White flowers on a green background - cotton - 1/2 yard or FQ

Lime green with lines and flowers - cotton - FQ
Black with white and red flowers - cotton - FQ

Grey fabric with game pieces - t-shirt fabric - the main part of this fabric measures 17.5" x 27" (we will call it a FQ) and then there is a little extra that is 13" x 9" (if you can see the little yellow paper on the fabric, you can see the shape of the fabric - the FQ is the large part and the extra is the part sticking up)
Grey waffle material - t-shirt fabric - 30" wide tube x 1 yard long (so if you cut the tube open, it would be 60" wide fabric)

5146  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: Newbie Questions on: January 30, 2007 06:29:28 PM
I think you are misunderstanding the qualifications.  This is what the swaps say:

Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time:

This means that if you are a first time swapper, you can only join one swap.  So, pick the swap you want, join it and when you are finished it, you can join more (up to 5 at a time.)

Love that quilted magnet by Homerof2! Great mix of colours--and textures too, it looks like.

The textures is an optical illusion - it's all flat cotton  Smiley

Great quilt!

I looked it over before reading your message underneath and I too saw mountains and a sunset but the first thing that jumped out at me was the yellow in the center just above the mountains - I thought it looked like a bird (either an eagle or a dove) flying up out of the mountains  Smiley
5149  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Tilted Squares Baby Quilt on: January 30, 2007 01:24:02 PM
Great job on this quilt.

I made one block last year that had a tilted square in it and I found it very funny to work with and I think it's because I was so used to everything being straight and this wasn't.

Beautiful!  I just love the colors!

What a project for your first attempt - GOOD for you  Grin

I can't wait to see what else you produce.
