Beautiful and I can't imagine the amount of time you put into it.

Hope this isn't a stupid question but why is it called a string quilt?  Does it have something to do with the strips used?

Also, in my humble opinion, if you are going to tie quilt it, I wouldn't put the ties on the back.  I have a quilt done with ties and if they were on the back, I wouldn't use it very much as they are annoying rubbing against your body (I've tried mine both ways.)

Fantastic job!  I'm glad I'm not a judge and having to pick the best one because that's one decision I couldn't make.

A question about the bottom quilt - are the diamonds appliqued on or did you actually cut and sew them into the squares?

Oh my, I just realized it's almost the end of September and I don't have my square done and it looks like no one else has either (or you just haven't posted pictures.)

I'm going to try my best to get mine done this week so that when the October ones are posted, I'm not behind  Grin

4 more days until launch!

You're all starting to make me nervous - I hope you will like the patterns I pick and that the beginners will find the easy ones easy and the more experienced will find the harder ones enough of a challenge!

Wow, that gourd is amazing and oh, so small!

I can't imagine what size brush kmac must have used to paint those ferrets.

I am so hoping that people are still reading this thread so they can see the wonderful item I received from Cinderly as a thank you.  It's not her fault it took so long, the post office lost the first package she sent me!

I opened the package and was awed but also thought she went way beyond 'the call of duty' in what she sent me.  Then I read the note included and knew what was happening.

My actual thank you gift was this wonderful apron

Wow, is it ever hard to take a picture of yourself and not include your head  Grin  (not that brave, yet)

It's not the greatest picture of the apron - you can hardly tell that the fabric is burgundy and the bottom, skirt pockets and upper pocket have an added part that is burgundy with gold dots.

Cinderly knew it was my birthday in September so she included these wonderful fabrics as a present

Isn't she wonderful!  THANK YOU cinderly for all these fantastic items!

My mother had a magnetic pin cushion - I had totally forgotten how much I hated hers - hers was like a little cup with a magnet around the top - and the pins would kind of stick to the ring - but they would also get shoved on down to the bottom and I cringed at thinking about getting those pins out!

I have a magnetic pin cushion and it sounds just like your Mom's.  I have two solutions to when pins get down to the bottom - either turn it over and give it a little shake (the magnet catches the pins) or take the top off and reach inside to retrieve  Grin   Maybe her magnetic top didn't come off but mine does.  I inherited this one from my grandma about 20 years ago and it's fantastic - I've dropped it on the floor and not lost one pin.
