4951  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Are your garments "finished" on the inside? on: March 21, 2007 08:40:20 AM
I usually edge finish shirts and blouses but not pants, sweatpants or sweatshirts that are made with heavier material or fleece.

What I do is sew with a 5/8" seam and then trim down a bit and zig zag the edges together.  I've never had trouble with this coming apart, even on material that frays a lot.
4952  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ongoing Offer What You Have (Crafts/Supplies) Swap - March on: March 21, 2007 06:49:16 AM
In hopes of unstalling this swap, I've added 4 more items to my list (see above).

4954  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 12" Crochet Square of the Month Craftalong - MARCH on: March 21, 2007 06:35:28 AM
Wow, amdm, everything looks great.  I really like the colors you are using.

How large (or small) are your squares ending up?  If I remember correctly, you are using much smaller yarn than worsted weight.

Tanza, where did you get your Eeyore?  I've been wanting one for so long.

I claim from chrissiemags:

fat quarters # 8, 12, 13 and 14.

This is my 3rd claim and this is what I have:

1)  I received this in another swap but it's chunkier than what I use so I thought I would offer it to someone else.  The yarn is 50% shearling wool and 50% polyacrylic - thanks Sherrie for interpreting this for me!

2)  4 pewter Teddy Bear buttons

3)  A Paradise Doll pattern book.  Crochet.

4)  2 pieces of fabric - the purple on the left is quilting cotton and is 1/2 yard.  The purple fabric on the right is 100% polyester satin velvet print and measures 14" x 44"

5)  2 crochet squares in your choice of color and size, my choice of pattern.

6)  A quilt square in your choice of color and size, my choice of pattern.

7)  12 sheets of cardstock - 3 hot pink, 3 orange, 1 yellow and 5 blue

8 )  Love Chunks painting book

9)  Victorian crochet pattern book

10)  Snowflakes and angels crochet pattern book

heini, I love how the center of the easy square stands out so much!
4958  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: crazy jar quilt on: March 19, 2007 06:06:23 PM
Wonderful, I'm in awe!  I am in the process of making a childs themed jar quilt right now but it's just going to be rows of jars.  However, I have enough material collected to make myself a fruit and vegetable one and I may just have to 'steal' some of your idea.  Thanks, too, for the link to where you got some ideas.

It looks good to me.  I love how you used boats - it will make your friend remember where she comes from - but I'm sure she won't forget because others from there have said you can never forget 'the rock'!
