4941  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Latest News / Re: 3/6/07 - Is Craftster's Speed & Performance Better Now? on: March 07, 2007 07:57:45 AM
It's working great for me now - a number of super slow days after the move but then it hit lightening speed.  I've noticed it the most in how fast pictures load.
4942  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 12" Crochet Square of the Month Craftalong - MARCH on: March 07, 2007 07:48:55 AM
Welcome sunspotted!  Great job on the squares (you've got to quit running them down)!  I love the colors.

This 'newbie' rule is why you can't post pictures yet:

2. You cannot post pictures in forum messages or PMs until you've made 10 posts in the forum. You can post links to pictures but not pictures.

4943  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 2007 Color Craft-A-Long on: March 06, 2007 06:52:58 PM
Last year, just after joining Craftster, I made a bag and sent it off on a swap.  I loved the bag and it was hard to part with but I knew I had enough material and planned some day to make my own.  Well, it never got done but in January when I found this craft-a-long and saw that March was green, I knew that would be the month I would make my bag.  I don't have a picture of the lining but it's green too!

and a close up of the fabric, which I totally love!

4944  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 19 Gallery on: March 06, 2007 06:48:32 PM
I received today from seamshistoric!  She double filled my wish by sending me 2 piggies!  They are adorable and make the cutest couple!

This now makes 4 pigs I've received the last few months......almost a collection!

Can you believe this? It's so magnificent it drew a gasp from me on its first unveiling. Is this crochet or tatting? I don't know what technique it is, but the result is amazing.

I'm blushing now - I didn't realize my item would get such a response.  It is crochet and I'm thrilled you like it!
4946  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: One Tiny Thing #11 - Signups closed - mail by March 12 on: March 05, 2007 06:59:06 AM
Well, I hate to be a nag about this but I think communication is important so......if you haven't heard anything from your partner yet, please send me a PM - thanks!!
4947  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Pineapple Quilt extra detailed WIP on: March 04, 2007 01:28:38 PM
Beautiful!  I gasped when I saw those blocks - they are so bright and wonderful!

I just finished a quilt and backed it with flannel and we love it that way so that's another idea.

I am thinking I may machine a king sized quilt, not sure if it's possible Tongue

It is possible especially if you roll the side you aren't quilting up tight - that way it will fit through the machine.  All the best with it!

I don't get how you machine quilted such a giant quilt tho.

If you look at the picture on the first page, you can get a better idea.  I rolled up one side and then draped the other side over the table and a chair (that you can't see.)  I held lots of it on my lap and slowly worked my way through.  It wasn't the easiest thing to do, but it's do-able!
