4841  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: One Tiny Thing ? on: January 05, 2007 05:32:15 PM
what exactly do you do for this swap? just send something small?

This is what the original swap said and what I plan to follow  Grin

The idea is to make one (just one, no more, no less) tiny craft item.  It should be physically small (miniatures are encouraged) and should be something that you can craft with a high level of skill.  Even if it is a fairly simple/easy item for you to make, please embellish or perfect it so that it best represents your skill.  (For example, if you wish to make a coin purse, I encourage you to embroider, add beading, or take other steps to make it a really special piece.)  You will receive only one partner.  You may only send that partner ONE tiny craft - "extras" are not allowed in this swap.

If you hadn't told us it was crochet, I never would have guessed!  It must be all the knots - I really like it!
4843  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Quilt Block of the Month Craftalong on: January 04, 2007 05:33:53 PM
Since I already had the sewing machine out to make the December square I thought I would also piece the top together.

This is as far as I'm going now although I do plan to put a border on it and finish it someday but, for now, I am working on a quilt for our bed and another one for my cousins son.

I found it hard to get good pictures - in this shot the blocks are:

Upper row (L to R)  January - April
Middle row (L or R)  May - August
Bottom row (L to R) September - December

This is just a different angle:

So, although I am only going this far for now, it doesn't mean I'm going to quit watching this board.  I can't wait to see the blocks you all have left to make and also to see other finished products.

This has been a very fun craft-a-long and I'm so glad I found it (even though I had to catch up a few months.)  Thanks crazy_bc_jen for organizing this!!!

I finally was able to find time to make one of the December squares.  I am planning to make the snowman later for a pillow top but decided on this one for my quilt:

That is stunning!  Great color combination.

Is the blue with red flowers fabric cotton?

Oops, I should have mentioned that - it is cotton

In hopes of unstalling this, I have added some more choices to what I have to offer.

Thanks for posting all those links!

I've been involved in 5 of the OTT swaps and I've noticed over the last few that things were starting to get bigger and that people were sending more than one thing - I want to get back to the original intent of this swap and so I'm going to be a stickler that people obey the 'rules'  Grin

This is called ONE TINY THING and that's what I'm going to ask people to do when they join - just send ONE TINY THING.

Hope I don't scare anyone off but that's how I'm going to be - might as well tell it all now.

sounds great. just wondering if this time pendant necklaces can be counted as the do package up small. cyndiq

I'm going to ask everyone to stick to the original idea of whatever you send has to be no more than 4" x 4" - so if the pendant is that small or smaller, it would fit into this category.

I would like to claim from Eliea and this is what I would like:

Quote from: Eliea
I can also make stuffies with them using the pattern from sewing stars here.

Just pick which animal and which of the above fabrics.

I would like a bear made with the pink heart fabric shown in this picture

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my second claim and this is what I have to offer this time:

1)  Gold doily (made by me) and framed in a metal ring - great for hanging on the wall!

2)  5 partial balls of cotton yarn - some balls are almost complete and some are just less than 1/2

3)  Blue t-shirt material (approximate size is 52" long x 60" wide)

4)  I will make 3 crochet squares - you pick the color and size, I will pick the pattern.  These pictures are all of 12" squares and are just so you can see what I can make:

5)  This air freshener doll (she fits Renuzit best but will also sit on Air Wick okay) - I am only sending the doll, no air freshener included  Grin

6)  I will crochet a panta - just tell me what color you want and your head measurement.

7)  A beaded necklace like this one - you pick the 3 colors.

8 )  Blue cotton material with red flowers - approximately 1 yard x 44" wide
