How do you get it to curve?  Does it have wire in it?

It does have wire - I actually used a clothes hanger.  That was one of the toughest parts to do - you were supposed to stuff it and then try and shove the wire into the stuffing, not fun!

Lipzilla, the first pattern is cute - the biggest difference between it and the ones I made is that the pattern you posted uses thread.

I couldn't find the String of Lights pattern in the second link.

This is another item I found while decorating yesterday.  I made it a few years ago and the pattern was from the Crafting Traditions magazine.

It's 24" from the bottom to the top of the curve.

Great job of using contrasting colors on the experienced square, craftdabbler UK!

Any chance you remember where you got the pattern from?

I figured someone would ask this so I spent some time today looking for it - I couldn't find the exact one but this PATTERN is similar.

I was decorating this morning and found some lights I had made a few years ago and thought I would share them with you.  They were originally meant for a swap but once I was done them, I just couldn't part with them  Grin

This is about 1/4 of the string

and, a single 'bulb'

I should add that this is not my own design - it was from a pattern.

Faunal, great job!  My favorite is the Woven Ribbons followed closely by the birdhouses  Grin

What a great project!  I love it.

But, I don't know if I have the patience for this! Maybe I could make a teeny version of it

craftADDchick, I did something similar with a Piglet pattern - the pattern was for yarn and I used thread - just followed the exact directions and it worked out great.

What a great pencil holder - it would make a great crochet hook holder too!  I have the exact same material  Grin

Question - is everyone going to post and won't that just be a bunch of duplicate pictures?  and, if, like me, people sent the same cards to everyone, won't it take the surprise away for those still waiting to receive?
