4821  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 2007 Color Craft-A-Long on: May 01, 2007 06:01:58 PM
Here is my almost completed project for May - it's almost complete only because I'm not sure if I'm going to finish it.  I used to sew tons of stuff when my boys were younger - all my own clothes, except pants, all my hubby's shirts and most everything for my sons.  Lately though, I haven't been able to find very good material and sometimes it's cheaper to buy then sew so I haven't done as much clothing.  However, I decided I wanted to make myself some clothes so I pulled out a pattern from a few years back but now that I'm to this stage, I'm not sure if I still like this style.  All it needs are buttons and a hem.......but, we will see what happens.

If I don't finish it though, I'm not going to be wasting much - the material was 75% off and cost me less than $10.00.

I also received a package from kishcrafts yesterday.

Some fantastic thread (both regular and quilting) and a very cute easter pin she made herself!

The 3 items on the pin are sooooo tiny and soooooooo perfectly made!

I received from Raynbow a few days back but wasn't able to get pictures until today.

She sent me this wonderful Quilting pattern-a-day calendar and some thread (which isn't in the pictures because it's already in my thread holder):

I KNOW I'm going to get lots of use from this!

Here we go for the month of May!

Easy - this one is very nice when it's done up - don't let the first 4 rows throw you off, just read the directions and it turns out fine!

Experienced - I made this last year and it's really nice - I put it in experienced because of the rings and connecting them - a little challenging but totally do-able!
4828  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 22 on: April 30, 2007 04:11:08 PM
I claim vee-power for:

One of those roll-up paintbrush holders

This is my 2nd claim with none sent.  I'm in Alberta, Canada.

Orange cotton fabric that's not too girly.  I'm starting to collect fabric to make my oldest son a quilt and orange is his favorite color - FQ minimum/piece, please

Cotton fabric with trumpets and/or clarinets on it - 1/2 yard minimum, please

Laurel Burch's Hearts and Hummingbirds fabric in lavender - 1/2 yard minimum, please

A candy goodie box (this would be especially fun if you live in a non-North American country.)  I've had 2 such packages before and totally loved them but now I'm out so I'd love more.  No chocolate please as I'm allergic to it.  A few things I like are sour candy, chewy candy, dutch licorice but I won't turn other kinds away

Most of the things I've mentioned are on my wist but feel free to check it over and if there something on there you want to make, go ahead.

Some tea towels with toppers on them so I can hang them from my stove.  Sewn, knit or crochet toppers are great and any color except for white for the tea towels.

A swap journal - the notebook I've been using is almost full so I'm in need of something new.

A Craftster address book - I like keep addresses of people I've swapped with in case I do again - I'd like it to have a space for the Craftster name as well as their real name and address and also a space to write down what swaps I've done with them.

I have plans to make this doll http://www.paradisedolls.com/p083.html (except mine will have silver accents rather than gold) and I'm still in the collecting stage so, I'm looking for any silver charms that would suit this dress (such as scissors, brush, mirror, etc.), silver old fashioned buttons with pearls in the center, I still need about 100 regular shirt buttons (2 or 4 hole is fine) - it's hard to see in the picture but some of the squares are made with buttons and sequins (which I already have)

Mint received from me awhile back and since she hasn't had a chance to post pictures yet, I thought I would go ahead and post some (hopefully you don't mind, Mint)

I sent her a doily, a crochet hook roll and needle holder:

the roll and holder opened (including the 2 hooks and needle I included) :

Also, she said if I made any afghan squares she wanted them in the colors of harry potter and she even directed me to a website to check it out.  I was able to make 2 of the combinations (gold and scarlet, black and yellow) and then also made a green one:
