41  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Pocket Letters Round 3 GALLERY on: October 07, 2016 06:23:34 AM
WOW  Shocked  all the PL received so far have been great!  I'm definitely going to be 'borrowing' so ideas from them.  I've wanted to try a full page one so was happy to see the cat and get a closer look at how that can work.  Quaggy's bright one could have easily come to my house  Smiley

I can't wait to see the rest and receive mine too.
42  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Sweat Shoppe ORNAMENT Swap Round 7 (signups end 10/17, send by 11/15) on: October 03, 2016 08:35:41 PM
Perfect timing ... I happened to be on here just when this swap was posted so I sent in my information right away.  I love this swap!!

I'm going to offer 6 items this year.

I love the idea, but being in a swap like this with someone with your skills and experience is a bit intimidating Homer Smiley

Me intimidating, never  Smiley

------------------------------------------------------------------

The mini swaps I've done outside Craftster say 'you may be paired with someone who has a different skill level than you do and if you have a problem with that, don't join.'   Also, in many, you aren't partnered with the person you are sending to and they are secret, meaning you don't know who you're receiving from.

I'm not intending to ask skill level because, to me, the fun of swapping isn't for what I'll receive, it's for what I'll make and send.  When I posted this in the New Themes Idea, I forgot about the Art Quilt swaps which many of you are referring to.  I did one of those swaps but I don't see this as the same.  If you look at my recent posts on the Quilting Board, you'll see some I've recently done.  They are fabric only ... I think of an art quilt as having embellishments and extras added on, which is not what I'm thinking of.

44  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: 4x6 Art Swap Fall 2016 on: October 03, 2016 07:16:43 AM
Having just spent 2 1/2 days in the US and helping Hobby Lobby lower their inventory  Grin I have some great ideas for this swap and will send my questionnaire in shortly.

Homerof2, you're getting my very first watercolor project.  it may not look like watercolor (the paints are more opaque than what I'm familiar with), but I swear it is.  Cheesy

Can't wait to see it!!

I mailed today ... hope it travels quickly and that you'll like it.
46  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Mini Quilts made in 2016 on: September 26, 2016 04:29:28 PM
Thanks AIMR ... I had fun making all of them and had a hard time parting with the top and bottom ones.
47  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Mini Quilts made in 2016 on: September 25, 2016 09:02:39 PM
I've done 3 swaps this year outside Craftster for Mini Quilts.  In all of them, the creator chose the pattern based on themes and colours the recipient suggested.  None of them could be larger than 24" x 24".

This swap was specifically for rainbow colours:

I've done several of these swaps outside Craftster and have enjoyed them so much.

The mini quilt can have any side as small as 12" but a maximum of 24".  The pattern would be makers choice but the recipient would provide colours they like and don't like for guidance.  It needs to be made from 100% cotton and designed to hang (it could have a sleeve or corner pockets.)

I think 1 month is enough time to make and send this size of quilt so that's what I'd expect.  I would like to do this before Christmas so was thinking to have signups from October 10-15 and a mailing deadline of November 17th.

Any interest or questions?

Oh, Oh, Oh, I just spotted some Kwality monsters!  I have one on an ATC and it's my favourite.

AIMR, your 'leftover' hearts and yoyos are adorable and a neat theme!
