41  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Hoopla swap on: September 01, 2014 10:24:18 PM
I would organize another round if anyone is interested.  It would work best for me to have signups start around Sept 10th and send outs mid-October.  I'm thinking that Seasons (winter, spring, summer or fall) would be a good theme.

Anyone interested and, if so, is that a good theme or do you have other ideas?

I'm terrible at remembering to check this board ...... I'd do another round of this!

I've been patiently waiting for September as I knew that's when signups would probably start.  Just today I thought to check if it was on the New Theme board ...... and here it is.  Can't wait for signups to open, patiently wait for partners and then crafting!!!

emisaurus - great job!

Each New Year, we have a pickle drop  because all of the good items to drop are taken (silver ball, strawberry, etc.).  I think it is ridiculously funny to watch a dill pickle drop to mark the New Year, but it is a tradition...

That's hilarious!!   Cheesy

I had such big plans for making blocks this week but only finished one!

Tuesday was going to be 'the' big sewing day until I stopped at a friends just to say hi.  I wasn't going to visit, just say hi .... 4 hours later I left.  Yesterday I visited with a friend for a planned 1/2 hour ... 3 hours later I left.  I told her I must have needed to use all my words that afternoon and she replied 'good thing you don't know the entire dictionary'  Shocked  Today hubby's off so that means another day with no sewing but that's okay since I LOVE spending days with him  Kiss

I can take you to 2 JoAnn's, 2 Michael's, and 3 Hobby Lobbys plus several quilt fabric stores. We have an abundance of craft riches here.

That's just not fair !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I would love to have a Hobby Lobby within driving distance but, wait, they aren't in Canada!  That means I have to drive a long way to find one  Cry

For me, hmm..... local quilt store not worth going to, quilt store in next town 10 minutes away is worth the drive usually, Michaels in next city 30 minutes away has no fabric, Fabricland in same city has some quilting fabric but so-so quality.  My next option is the even larger cities 1.5 to 2 hours away but unless I go to private stores they have no other chain options.  Now I know why I do most of my fabric shopping online or when we visit the US.

Now if we talk prices that just makes me cry  Cry   Cry   Our quilt fabric here is twice the price, or more, of buying online (including shipping) or when I shop in the US.  I used to think quilting was expensive until I found prices outside of Canada.
