582  Re: Quilt Block of the Month Craftalong in Craftalongs by Homerof2 on: January 04, 2007 05:33:53 PM
Since I already had the sewing machine out to make the December square I thought I would also piece the top together.

This is as far as I'm going now although I do plan to put a border on it and finish it someday but, for now, I am working on a quilt for our bed and another one for my cousins son.

I found it hard to get good pictures - in this shot the blocks are:

Upper row (L to R)  January - April
Middle row (L or R)  May - August
Bottom row (L to R) September - December

This is just a different angle:

So, although I am only going this far for now, it doesn't mean I'm going to quit watching this board.  I can't wait to see the blocks you all have left to make and also to see other finished products.

This has been a very fun craft-a-long and I'm so glad I found it (even though I had to catch up a few months.)  Thanks crazy_bc_jen for organizing this!!!

I finally was able to find time to make one of the December squares.  I am planning to make the snowman later for a pillow top but decided on this one for my quilt:

584  Re: Ongoing Offer What You Have (Crafts/Supplies) Swap - Dec. 24-Jan. 24 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Homerof2 on: January 03, 2007 03:23:07 PM
I would like to claim from Eliea and this is what I would like:

Quote from: Eliea
I can also make stuffies with them using the pattern from sewing stars here.

Just pick which animal and which of the above fabrics.

I would like a bear made with the pink heart fabric shown in this picture

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my second claim and this is what I have to offer this time:

1)  Gold doily (made by me) and framed in a metal ring - great for hanging on the wall!

2)  5 partial balls of cotton yarn - some balls are almost complete and some are just less than 1/2

3)  Blue t-shirt material (approximate size is 52" long x 60" wide)

4)  I will make 3 crochet squares - you pick the color and size, I will pick the pattern.  These pictures are all of 12" squares and are just so you can see what I can make:

5)  This air freshener doll (she fits Renuzit best but will also sit on Air Wick okay) - I am only sending the doll, no air freshener included  Grin

6)  I will crochet a panta - just tell me what color you want and your head measurement.

7)  A beaded necklace like this one - you pick the 3 colors.

8 )  Blue cotton material with red flowers - approximately 1 yard x 44" wide

I'd like to claim from Atsuko and I would like the 1 yard red with stars material.

Here is what I have to offer right now:

Gold doily (made by me) and framed in a metal ring - great for hanging on the wall!

5 partial balls of cotton yarn - some balls are almost complete and some are less than 1/2

Blue t-shirt material (approximate size is 52" long x 60" wide)

I'm not totally sure what this material is but I'm guessing a cotton blend - it has a stretch in it - the approximate measurement is 3 yards long and 40" wide.

I will make 3 crochet squares - you pick the color and size, I will pick the pattern.  These pictures are all of 12" squares and are just so you can see what I can make:

586  Re: Happy Little Christmas Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Homerof2 on: December 18, 2006 07:43:55 PM
I received today from Zenochka and I have to say, we in our house have been spoiled!

First, the item for me - a beautiful snowman bag (if you look closely you can see the added snowman decoration in the middle of the bottom portion)

2 homemade ornaments:

The item for charity - a scarf and hat:

And, I had asked for the item to give away be something for my husband, so, first she sent this great Coke ornament:

and.................this FANTASTIC Coke blanket, that she made:

THANKS so much for everything - it's all great!

Yesterday I received 2 wonderful and beautiful tea towels from Tanza.

It's hard to see in the picture but the red stitching is actually chili peppers - snowflakes and chili peppers, what perfect things for me  Grin

588  Re: Winter Holiday Decorating Craftalong! in Craftalongs by Homerof2 on: December 10, 2006 03:28:57 PM
I have been wondering what this craftalong was all about so I finally took the time to read all the pages and look at all the pictures.  Wow, there are some fantastic trees!  I have to say that one of my favorite is retroeva's small kitchen tree and that's because I collect miniature kitchen utensils and that would look perfect in my house (where did you get all those kitchen ornaments?)

Here is our tree - we call him Charlie Brown - he is 22 years old and was purchased the first year my hubby and I were married.  While he doesn't look too bad with decorations and lights, he looks very pathetic when standing 'undecorated' and reminds me of the tree in Charlie Brown's Christmas - thus his name!

I crocheted the tree skirt and 99.5% of the decorations are hand made by either myself or I have received them through swaps.

Here are 2 of my favorites:

These are both glass balls that I dribbled paint into and then spent time twisting them to cover the inside and then turned them over to let the excess paint drain out.

Sitting deep inside the branches is this little hat:

gavagai sent me the most wonderful stencilled long sleeve t-shirt!  It fits perfectly and she couldn't have picked a better color (one of my favorites)

590  Re: The Great Craftster Scavenger Hunt Round 2 Swap Gallery!! in The Swap Gallery by Homerof2 on: November 28, 2006 03:52:03 PM
Ratzrule received from me a long time ago but wasn't able to get pictures posted and, unfortunately, the ones I took were erased from my camera.  So, after PMs back and forth, she e-mailed the pictures to me and I'm going to post them.

Here's most everything (just realized there are 2 items not in the photo)

and a close up of the sides, top and bottom of the jewelry box

Now, let's see - I used

on the jewelry box:

Canadian flag
Irridescent sequins
Rainbow
Something bumpy (the snowman)
Seomthing heart shaped
Something music related
Something musical
Something oval and blue (the egg)
Something speckled (orange and black ball on top)
Somethign that reminds you of fall (leaves)
Something you can read (the letter S)
Something you see in winter (the snowman)

and other items:

Breakfast treat (a package of peach instant oatmeal)

On the lip balm:  A photo (there really is one) and something with partners favorite flavor or scent

The stingray:  An unusual animal (it sure is for Canada), something from the ocean and something fuzzy

Necklace and bracelet:  Something lime green, something purple and shiney, something round and shiney

Tea (the tea, of course)

Penguin keychain - something penguin

Beaded glow in the dark necklace - something glow in the dark and something plastic

Dog stickers - something shiney

I also sent her a panta (something to keep your partner warm this winter) and, I believe, I also sent a pen (ink and something to do with literature or writing) as well, I wrote her note on pink paper.

Whew, I think I've remembered everything!
