Today's little project.  It's 10" from hanger to heel.

13  Re: Embroidery Hoopla Round 10 - Places - GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Homerof2 on: April 01, 2014 03:00:52 PM
I can hardly believe that I'm the first to post - usually a US to Canada swap takes forever but not this time!

artsycandice should get extra special feedback for combining 3 of my places into one hoop.  She took my places of A Bathtub, A Flower Garden and Alberta and created this amazing project:

If you are wondering where Alberta is in this hoop - the 6 magenta flowers with yellow centers are Wild Roses, which are the Provincial Flower of Alberta.

and she also added this adorable little bee ...... amongst one of my favorite flowers

15  Rainbow Skinnie in Quilting: Completed Projects by Homerof2 on: March 19, 2014 09:39:28 AM
When I started this project a couple days ago, it was intended for my mom.  She's in the hospital for the umpteenth time in the last 4 years.  I know hospitals rooms can be dreary and we are going to visit her this weekend so I thought it needed to be 'cheered' up.  However, when I was quilting it I got thinking what would she do with it when she went home.  My parents philosophy is that every square inch of walls need to be covered and not only would there be no where to hang it, it really would not suit their house style.  So I have decided to keep it for myself and I'll buy her a nice, bright bouquet of flowers instead.

When I was looking for an idea I saw something along these lines but it was pieced but I wanted quicker method so I came up with this idea.  The squares are appliqued on with a small zigzag and also quilted with lines.  Instead of a  binding, I just folded the front fabric to the back and stitched it down.  Overall it's 11.5 x 29.5 inches.

First I need to give credit where it is due - LisaMarieNY is the designer of this mugrug and when I saw the one she posted in the Quilting Finished Projects, I wanted to make one and was pleasantly surprised to see she sold the pattern.

This is my 3rd finished project of the year.

I found this pattern in the May/June 2013 Quiltmaker magazine.  I knew as soon as I saw it I wanted to make it.  It's a part of their Big Block Baby Quilt series.

My hubby had to work at a trade show today and when I asked him what I was supposed to do with myself all day (he rarely works Saturday), he told me I should make a quilt so I decided to take him up on that and did this in about 4.5 hours.

A close up of the fabrics I used:

I backed it with purple fleece so it's warm and cozy

My first finished project for the year!  This is a kit from the series 'A Door A Doodle' and it's called How Does Your Garden Grow.  It's about 16" x 10"

I added some extra quilting details:

19  Bright Stripes for Her in Crochet: Completed Projects by Homerof2 on: February 28, 2014 01:48:49 PM
Another project made with a pattern in Surprise Crochet Sweaters for Baby.  There is one row of white between each color but it doesn't show up well in the pictures.

These work up so quick and are so cute that I've already got another one on the go.

20  Brown and Blue for Him in Crochet: Completed Projects by Homerof2 on: February 10, 2014 08:22:10 PM
I recently purchased a pattern book for baby sweaters that are made in one piece and this is the first one I've made.  The entire thing is single crochet.  This is a 6 month size but I think the next ones I make will be larger as I'm concerned whoever receives this will outgrown it too quickly.

This is what it looked like when I was finished crocheting
