When I started this project a couple days ago, it was intended for my mom. She's in the hospital for the umpteenth time in the last 4 years. I know hospitals rooms can be dreary and we are going to visit her this weekend so I thought it needed to be 'cheered' up. However, when I was quilting it I got thinking what would she do with it when she went home. My parents philosophy is that every square inch of walls need to be covered and not only would there be no where to hang it, it really
would not suit their house style. So I have decided to keep it for myself and I'll buy her a nice, bright bouquet of flowers instead.
When I was looking for an idea I saw something along these lines but it was pieced but I wanted quicker method so I came up with this idea. The squares are appliqued on with a small zigzag and also quilted with lines. Instead of a binding, I just folded the front fabric to the back and stitched it down. Overall it's 11.5 x 29.5 inches.
