11  Brown and Blue for Him in Crochet: Completed Projects by Homerof2 on: February 10, 2014 08:22:10 PM
I recently purchased a pattern book for baby sweaters that are made in one piece and this is the first one I've made.  The entire thing is single crochet.  This is a 6 month size but I think the next ones I make will be larger as I'm concerned whoever receives this will outgrown it too quickly.

This is what it looked like when I was finished crocheting

12  Purples Star Jacket in Crochet: Completed Projects by Homerof2 on: January 28, 2014 08:12:22 AM
I can't remember the last time I crocheted a piece of clothing but when I saw the one BertaBerta posted in December I just knew I had to make it.

I have no idea who it's going to yet but I'll just store it until the proper recipient arrives.

13  Abi's Musical Pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Homerof2 on: January 26, 2014 09:45:52 AM
The daughter of our good friends, who we are very close to, is turning 16 and her party is today.  I couldn't figure out what to make and/or purchase for her until this morning.  She plays the violin at church and in a string orchestra and I remembered I had some fabric that would make a perfect pouch for her - whether it be for makeup or school - and so I set about trying a new pattern this morning.  Now that I've made it once, the next one won't take as long.  I'm happy with it and hope she will like it as well.  The pouch is about 9" long and 5" tall.

I made the inside purple and if you look closely, you can see my personal label, which just arrived on Friday.

14  Crochet Hook Roll in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Homerof2 on: January 18, 2014 10:09:25 PM
My collection of crochet hooks has outgrown my current roll so tonight I finally made a new one for myself.  Now I think I should quit buying hooks  Grin

15  Daddy & Mommy Hoops in Needlework: Completed Projects by Homerof2 on: January 17, 2014 01:01:42 PM
We've been doing some sorting, cleaning and de-cluttering of our storage areas and I've discovered three projects I  stitched and forgot about.

These two are Precious Moments projects that I would have made 20 years ago (give or take a year.)  They are both small, the Daddy hoop is 4" and the Mommy is smaller.

I'm so happy I found them and will be adding them to my hoopla wall.

16  Re: Hoopla A-Long 2013-2014 in Needlework: Stitchalongs by Homerof2 on: January 11, 2014 09:23:38 PM
I thought I would start the year out with a simple project.....only problem was, working with yellow on white turned out to be fairly hard to do.  Then when I was all finished I realized I made a mistake on my very first stitch and that threw the entire pattern out.  There are so many errors in this that I shouldn't even be posting it but I will, just to prove I'm not perfect  Cheesy

17  A Mother Understands... in Needlework: Completed Projects by Homerof2 on: January 08, 2014 02:33:46 PM
I was cleaning out a bench in our bedroom that I've used to store craft supplies for a long time and came across this piece of work that I'm thinking I made 20 years ago, which would mean it was one of my first completed projects as an adult.

My sons would have been 4 and 2 at that time and so they weren't always able to express themselves clearly but I usually knew what they meant - that's why this caught my attention and I had to stitch it.  Why it ever got put in the bench I'm not sure.

18  Thread Snowflake in Needlework: Completed Projects by Homerof2 on: December 18, 2013 09:18:28 AM
Stitched this up over the last few days - went much quicker than I thought it would.  I went with bright colors I had (the lower dark color is purple and is not that dark in real life) and then decided to finish it off with a real button rather than stitching one.

A few in progress shots

This is an Urban Threads design with my color choice and a different name

20  Cupcake Hot Mat in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Homerof2 on: December 17, 2013 07:56:00 PM
I made this for my neighbor yesterday.  Despite it looking flat, there are two layers of heat resistant batting and regular batting.  It was really puffy in the middle once I finished the square outlines so I decided it needed stitching there as well.  First time I've tried one of these but it won't be the last since they work up very quickly.  It's 8 1/2" square.
