I have always admired Bjork, and love her crazy style. So this year I decided to go as her in the infamous swan dress... if only I'd had time to make the egg purse!



My swan is a bit more goofy but I like it that way  Cheesy
I made the swan head out of white tights, fake eyelashes and a beak from a kid's halloween mask. The dress was a 'roman goddess' costume from a shop. I also added ostrich feathers to the dress, and wore a crinoline to get some pouf.

I couldn't resist when I saw this pattern. I never understood why people knit food but there is something strangely appealing about it...

This is a present for my bf for valentines. I plan to add a cheesy 'olive you baby' tag to the jar.

Am I the only one who finds storebought stirfry sauce expensive and gross?
But I have yet to come across a really good basic recipe that I can make quickly when I am hungry and tired. I was trying to think of some way I could store homemade sauce after making a big batch.. freezing? or canning? I know how to can but should I worry about acidity and all that stuff..

any suggestions?

Can anyone suggest a good tutorial site for double knitting? I've searched around the internets and craftster to no avail. Sorry if I've missed it somewhere.

I would like to design a double-knitted scarf, and have letters on one side, that say ITMFA (has anyone heard of this campaign, it's pretty awesome.. http://www.itmfa.com **warning, strong language and strong political opinions at this site**) It will be an xmas gift for my polisci geekster friend Smiley

Am I the only person who feels like I'm kicking mother earth in the shins when I felt my bags in the washing machine? Such a waste of electricity and water.

Does anyone have any ideas for earth-friendly felting? I have tried doing in by hand in the sink, but can't create enough friction I guess because things don't felt up very well.

Well I thought I'd join in and ask for some help with my first cable sweater, Rogue.. the chart shows a symbol that looks like this \ o / (the o is a black dot) and the instruction is k1, p1, k1 in next stitch. But as far as I can see from the chart, this is all supposed to happen in one stitch??

I'm so confyoosed..  bear with me I've never worked with a chart.

Any ideas? Does anyone know of a good site that offers explanations of cable stitches?
