2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Vegan friendly yarn suggestion on: December 13, 2006 10:31:18 AM
Using the chunky cabled beanie pattern http://stitchcafe.com/freepatterns.html but need to use yarn that has no animal fibers for a friend who is Vegan - Does anyone have a suggestion for a chunky/bulky weight yarn that would work for cables - tried one that was awful - had no stretch to it, so I was left with gaps after the cables - looked terrible. Made a couple with Lion Brand Wool Ease and they came out great.

Thanks!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Gifts for college students on: November 13, 2006 01:12:05 PM
I work at a small college in Western NY - a.k.a. cold winters - I want to make thank you/holiday gifts for my work study students (female)- needs to be a quick knit that is not too complicated. If any craftsters are also college age: What would you like to receive? Would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks
