1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: etsy AND ebay? on: November 30, 2006 05:52:25 AM
It definatly can't hurt. I also have my business on both ebay and etsy. It took me almost a year to get a sale on etsy but, I hung in there and it did happen. Now it seems I have more and more, in the last month I have sold more from etsy than from ebay. Don't give up on it. It can take awhile. And like Craftychef said marketing helps alot also.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I have been out of town. As far as tips go I don't know I just try and get my name out there. I sell on ebay, etsy and listed my items on froogle. I try and keep my expences low. I designed my website, business cards and tags myself and print them all at home. I usually only by supplies when I have a large order. All of this really keeps my costs down. Sorry I don't have much for you, alot of my big orders have been by luck I guess. A large one I just had the lady found my eye pillows on ebay and placed a $300 order through my website. I guess the more places you have your items listed the more exposure they will get. Good Luck!

Shaina, I do pretty well selling my herbal packs online while most of my profit comes from ebay I do have online website sales. I actually filled a large order for a benefit event for a popular magazine the herbal packs went to celebertiys.  Do you sell these yourself that you know this?  It is definatly worth it for you to give it a try. They are very inexpensive to make if you find the right places to buy your supplies. If I wasn't making money on they I would have closed my website/business a while ago. You are right though that my busy times are around Christmas, Valentine's Day and other holidays but, they sell well the rest of the time as well.
6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Product Selling Advice on: April 10, 2006 11:56:18 AM
Hey everyone, Just wondering if I could get a few tips from anyone that sells their products in stores. I have had my website up and going for about six months now and am happy with the result I really want to get my stuff out there in stores. Just wondering if anyone had any advice on doing this. While I am confident in my product I am so nervous to go into stores to sell my items. Also wondering if anyone sells items on a larger scale in stores througout the country? Do you just email places that you would be interested in placing your items? Has anyone had any success doing this. Thanks so much  Smiley

I make Herbal Packs and sell them from my website. I do fairly well selling them but, most of my profit comes from ebay. There are alot of them out there so you need to find a way to make yours stand out. Using different herbs and essential oils helps and makes them smell really good. Good packaging helps as well. Good luck!

I like it. It seems to go well with the type of items you would like to sell.
10  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Alternatives to essential oils? on: March 16, 2006 05:24:22 PM
Essential Oils can be safe durring pregnancy, you just have to be careful what ones to use. You can do a web search and they will give you alot of safe oils that can be used. If you don't want to use the essential oils you can always go for herbs but again be carefull what ones you pick. Essential oils are very potient so the herbs would be a bit lighter therefore maybe safer. Other than that I don't know of anything. I would rather use herbs since they are natural if you get into putting other scents that don't come from herbs/natural means they may be full of chemicals that aren't good if soaked into your body.
