It's the wee little loon on the back that sells the pattern for me. Congrats on finnishing a long dormant project. I really should follow your example and get a few of those skeletons out of my closet

a real key element here is just how sensitive a given person is to shellfish. A few people have such serious allergies that just smelling shellfish from across the room can initiate a serious reaction. With these people I WOULD NOT let tofutsie yarn get anywhere near them. If people just have minor reactions when they eat shellfish you might be able to test and see if they react to the yarn or not. For all the good reasons outlined by the previous posts there may not be any reaction at all, but nothing can eliminate the chance of reaction entirely. Therefore, you have to take into account the danger of the given allergic reaction before you decide to use the yarn.
