1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: No More Muddy Paws on My Seats! on: November 20, 2008 08:43:23 AM
The brown and pink is actually no pill fleece and the bottom is sport nylon.  My dog only weighs 20 lbs. so its strong enough for her.  I made other ones for larger dogs and used fleece for one side and heavy denim for the other.  Since fleece has a little stretch to it, you have to use a fabric on the underside that will withstand the weight of your dog in case of falling on the 'hammock'.  Trust me...an 80 lb. Boxer falling in between the seats with one of these, just made of fleece, did not turn out to be a happy ending  Smiley

I actually made straps to connect to the child seat hooks i have in the back.  We'll see how they hold up there.  I might have to connect them to the seat belts instead.

My mom made one too but she has headrests on both sets of seats and hers stays up really well.
3  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Re: Finished Fat Bottom Bag! on: November 19, 2008 01:21:12 PM
I love this bag, but unfortunately after a lot of use this summer, it's not so pretty anymore.  I am going to have to make another one.  Maybe this time I'll take your idea and make a snap or latch of some kind to keep all my goodies inside!

Lexi loves her new sweater!  I started following one of the free patterns on bernat.com but then just made up the rest by myself.

I was tired of cleaning up muddy paw prints off my back seat after trips to the dog park...instead of paying $75 for one of those seat covers, I made this cover, ended up costing me around $15!!

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My new Nike + Pouch on: October 08, 2008 12:14:44 PM
I have the Nike system that tracks your running workouts.  I bought a new pair of Nike tennis shoes to train with but they hurt my feet terribly.  After looking online I had come across a few people that had reconstructed their shoes or made pouches to fit the sensor.  So javascript:void(0);here is my new compartment for my shoes!

I actually finished this a while ago, but just put the lining in today.  I tried using it without a lining but everything was sticking out through the holes!

I used a brown cotton blend with a turquoise satin for the lining.

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Easy Fleecy Rope toys on: January 08, 2008 07:50:35 AM
I make these all of the time!  My dogs can untie the ropes you get from the pet store and then I have strings everywhere!
What's great about these is that you can just buy the remnant fleece so it's super cheap!
